Just as he was looking at the name, he heard the matching voice next to him. 'Toru Adachi.' He thought maybe it was a trick his mind was playing on him, or something, his concern and thoughts about his ex-partner having bothered him on occasion before. But when he looked up, he's, well, more than surprised to see Adachi is actually there. So much so, that he jumped off his barstool, Dreamberry dropping on the counter with a clatter.

After a another moment of initial shock, he managed to find his voice. Even if it came out rather stuttery and inane at first. This just didn't make sense. Then again, nothing about this day did.

"What're you--what's going--"

He pinched the bridge of his nose, gathering himself before speaking again. Right, calm down. Even though he eases some, his voice is still stern--Probably a familiar tone to Adachi.

"What's going on?"
