Jade is used to seeing creatures of various colors, shapes, and sizes - particularly monsters - so Amaterasu's appearance doesn't surprise him. But he does pause to get a good look at her. There's certainly no monster on Auldrant that looks quite like her, and his younger self would have been quite fascinated to study her further. Good thing he's not that younger self anymore.

Amaterasu yawns once, stretching her legs out as she gets up, whining slightly. She notes that there are some withered trees. She frowns a little, a wolf-frown and dots one of the withered trees with her brush, watching as it blossoms as if newly sprouted.

She's unaware of the eyes on her.

Jade notices the behavior patterns of Amaterasu. She didn't appear aggressive. If she was then she would have likely attacked by now. He was considering moving on, when he witnessed her reviving a tree. Now this is very interesting, he thought.

Since Amaterasu was obviously the denizen of another world with powers, there was a chance that she might understand human speech. A few monsters on his home world had that ability after all. "Good afternoon," he said with a smile.

Amaterasu turned slowly, glancing at the refined looking man with a tilted head. She barked a little; her tail wagging slightly as she tilted her head to one side, walking over to him slowly.

He seems like a curious sort of person, she thought quietly. The god blinked her wolf-eyes and barked again.

The reaction was positive, though by all means not particularly conclusive. Still, there was no reason why Jade shouldn't carry on a conversation with a wolf that could make withered dreams bloom in a dream world. "I couldn't help but notice what you did for that tree," he said. "That was quite impressive."

She barked again, somewhat shocked. He knew that she had done that?
She whined a little, nodding her head once before she dotted the ground with her brush, making a few sprout around him. A few flowers bloomed along with it, as she wagged her tail.

She almost wanted to make the sun start shining...the sky above seemed so dark and dismal. But she didn't want to frighten the mortal..that would only make things harder for her.

Seeing more trees bloom, along with flowers, reinforced what Jade had seen. It also suggested strongly that Amaterasu indeed understood him and was pleased by the praise, even if she likely couldn't reply with words. Regardless, it was an impressive ability. "I wonder, are you another dreamer visiting Somarium, or are you related to the Overlord?" he asked. "If you're unable to talk, then just tap the ground twice with your left paw to let me know that you live here. If you're a visitor then two taps with the right should be sufficient. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just scratch the ground for a few seconds."

She glanced up at him with calm light in her eyes. She pawed the ground with her right paw, barking slightly as she tapped it. She whined a little bit. How could she ask him where Issun was? Or Waka..how would they know what she wanted...humans were so frustrating.

She sighed as she glanced up at him, shaking her head at the comment of the Overlord. Still, she wondered who that was.

The way Amaterasu answered Jade's questions were quite informative. He felt confident enough that he could hold a conversation with her. The problem was that it would be rather one-sided unless he could think of a method to help her communicate more easily. "Is there a way for you to grow flowers in uniform lines?" he asked as he considered their options. "If so, then perhaps you could use them to write what you want to say. Unless you have another ability that might help us have an easier time of communicating, of course."

[OOC: Up to you. Jade's already recognized her as a sentient being with great power, so if she wants to communicate with flowers rather than talking to him it's her decision. (And yours.) I'm fine either way. Reading flowers is funny, but Jade would be surprised seeing her transformation too. ;)]

[Transformation for the win.]

The wolf barked slightly; before in a burst of brilliant light, she appeared in her human form. She blinked her crimson eyes once or twice, stumbling on both legs as she struggled to balance herself. Her long white hair tumbled around her body as her tail weakly wrapped around one leg, the flaming reflector still floating as the wolf-turned-girl sighed quietly.

"It takes a lot of energy to do this." She said quietly, adjusting her kimono as she glanced at him. "I'm sure this must be very strange...so..ah.." Her ears twitched atop her head, cheeks pinkening.

The transformation surprised Jade. It wasn't that much more outstanding than seeing entire trees grow and bloom in an instant, but his expression did change for a moment to reflect that he didn't expect that. But in the next moment that pleasant smile was once more on his face.

"Not at all," Jade said. He was a little more experienced with people transforming into monsters than the reverse, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. "I quite appreciate you making the effort so that we may communicate. My name is Jade Curtiss. And you are?"

She blinked modestly, before offering a clawed hand, a small smile on her face. "It's fine. It takes a lot of strength but nothing I shouldn't be able to handle..I think I have enough Praise to last me.." Her ears wriggled at his introduction, smiling a fanged-smile.

"I'm Okami Amaterasu. It's nice to meet you, Mr.Curtiss."

The claws, fangs, ears, and tail were unusual features, but nothing Jade couldn't deal with. He had seen worse after all. He took Amaterasu's offered hand and shook it, mindful of her claws. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Amaterasu," he said. "It's not every day a military man such as myself meets someone with such amazing abilities."

She tilted her head to one side. "A military man, hm? That sounds dangerous. I hope you are careful.." She says lightly, her motherly nature somewhat taking hold of her for a brief moment.
She smiled a bit modestly. "Well, I have more of them, but they aren't at full strength. It depends on the faith of others that I gain my strength..But the fact that you recognized my abilities has helped a lot."
