*Raiden is noticing something strange about the old Madaraki clinic these days.

First and foremost is the obvious lack of Dr. Fran Madaraki herself. He remembers the strange woman as the person who saved his life after his fight with Vamp at Christmastime. He can hardly remember what she did, but he remembers waking up at her clinic nonetheless.

Second is the change of décor. Fran's idea of decorating, as he remembers, is dark and dismal, but that is already changing, and it seems like the red-haired woman he spots through the window is responsible for the changes. Is she another doctor? A different scientist? Is she an associate of Fran's?

Raiden decides the only way to find out is to observe. And so observe, he does.

Dangling upside-down off the clinic roof.

Right outside the waiting room window.

Certainly not the most subtle way of observing someone, but he didn't mind being seen this time around. In fact, he might be interested in asking this woman a question or two...*

[just so happens to turn in his direction and nearly falls over backwards]

W-WAH!!!

*As soon as he's spotted, he pulls back and disappears from sight for a moment. Seconds later, he flips like a ninja gracefully onto the ground.

He slowly turns to eye Washu through the window... then reaches out to lightly tap a hand on the glass with a beclawed hand.*

[and she'll be just...staring. But for different reasons than the whole ninja moving.]

...Hm.

[walks over, and peers at him through the window]

You know, there's a door you can go through.

*With a hiss and a low whiiiirrr, the visor and eye coverlets retract to reveal his pretty pale and weary face*

... *Matter-of-Fact* It would be strange of me to act normal.

*Nonetheless, he turns and crosses to the door, carefully grasping the handle and opening it up. He tentatively crosses the threshold into the clinic, checking out the differences between as it is now to as it was under Dr. Madaraki's reign. He breathes a low sigh.*

This place was abandoned for awhile. *Turns his unsettling, sad, blue gaze on Washu* Did you work with Dr. Madaraki?

[why is this guy so sad? Oh well, will be kind of getting up close and personal, Raiden, for she is inspecting your cyborg features]

Madaraki? Oh, the person who used to live here. No, I just arrived into this world a few days ago and after looking through the database and city plans, I found that this place would fit the bill just nicely for my lab.

[lifts your arm and moves it around a bit]

...Fascinating! Very nicely designed.

*Gently pulls his arm from Washu's grasp, turning his back on her. Self-consciously grips the spot where Washu touched him. Quietly, hoping to shift the topic off of himself,*

What kind of doctor are you? You're the third I have met.

[aw but she wasn't done! Ah well, she can study the stuff on his back just as well]

Not a doctor, a scientific researcher!

[suddenly appears in front of him]

My name is Washu, Hakubi Washu. And I am the greatest scientific genius in the universe~

The greatest. *Raiden is skeptical, to say the least, and more than a little put off by Washu's conceit. Where does she get off calling herself the greatest scientific genius in the universe? He doesn't turn away from her this time, though that familiar wariness with those that vaguely label themselves 'researchers' was slowly creeping to the surface.*

That's a big statement. There's another doctor here that'll give you a run for your money.

Do they have 20,000 years under their belt?

... Huh. Who does? Of course not. Something like that isn't possible.

*What is she trying to say, that she has the brainpower of 20,000 years worth of experience? Hmph. It reminded him of someone he definitely didn't want to think about.*

Well I was sealed up in a piece of glass crystal for 5,000 of those years, and locked up by own student no less in the spaceship that I built and he stole, but I've already accomplished a lot before that happened~

... *She must watch a lot of science fiction movies. Not exactly Raiden's forté, but he is familiar with some. Besides, believing she's getting it from a movie is a way to keep himself relatively sane.*

Sounds like something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey or even Planet of the Apes. *It's difficult to tell if he's serious or not from his controlled, level tone.* Did you find another planet with that spaceship?

Never hard of those movies, but in terms of planets, several galaxies have already been discovered and the Jurai royal family have colonized a few. I'm a researcher, not an explorer.

Earth is kind of in the backwoods in terms of development, though.
