I've been doing well, and I was able to leave the city for a while. You seem to be doing well too.

Some time ago a large ship happened to arrive at the city. I boarded it as did many others and we crossed the desert on it.

Ah, I remember that. It looked quite interesting but I was too busy fixing up the library to manage to get on board. What is the desert like?

Quite hot, and dangerous from the looks of it. Several of the creatures that live there seem to be hostile but fortunately they made no major attempts to attack it. Also there are ruins located deeper within the desert, that's where the ship stopped at.

Quite far, though I was able to see the city from over there with my telescope.

Quite large, I found several broken weapons and gunpowder as well so it seems it used to be a military base.

Really? How interesting. I wonder how it was connected to this city. Did it look like it was in the same general condition as the city?

No, it was more damaged, though that would be understandable since it is located in the desert and the sandstorms could have damaged it. Still it does seem to have a certain connection, I have some theories but nothing certain.

I see... Do you know if people were making plans to travel back at some point? I would like to be involved if such a trip was to take place.

What do you think about it?

Not that I know of. If such an expedition were to take place however we would require a similar vehicle or at least enough strenght to get past those creatures.

For one it makes me wonder if there isn't some other way of getting there. It's not convenient for a country to be so isolated from its army. And then there's that other thing I saw...
