When Lloyd had walked out of his home, he had been surprised by the warmth weather. Not that he was really complaining, the sooner summer was coming, the better the brown haired boy would feel.

But now that the snow was melting away fast, Lloyd felt like getting out of the house. He brought his swords with him, thinking that he might find a good spot to practice his swordsmanship, just to stay ahead of his game. His run-in with the Noctarae showed him that his abilities wouldn't be wasted in this world and practice makes perfection, right? Not to mention that the young man was pretty sure his newly-arrived dad would ask him how his swordsmanship was going and Lloyd didn't want to have his ass handed over by Kratos.....again.Lloyd nearly groaned when he saw Asch working out. Who knew the only man he could ever consider as a rival (and that was just because the red haired man had been a terrible fiancé to Natalia, he told himself) would have the same idea as him. Still, the young man watched Asch for a moment. After all, picking ( ... )

Asch started putting himself through some moves, one of which turned him around... so he was looking directly at Lloyd. He paused, blinking in surprise, before lowering his sword.

"Seems like I wasn't the only one who thought this was a good idea," he stated, a small frown on his face. He didn't know how to react to Lloyd; he didn't find him that bad, despite his initial reaction to him being around Natalia. He seemed to have a big heart, especially where the princess was concerned, even though they were not from the same world.

"Yeah..." Lloyd replied with a small nod.

He didn't know how to react to Asch either. Even though the young man thought he was responsible for Natalia's suffering, Lloyd didn't want to lash out at Asch. The princess clearly had feelings for him still, and he didn't want to hurt her further by giving her fiancé the ass-whooping Lloyd thought he deserved.

There was an awkward pause while Lloyd considered his next move:

"Wanna sparring partner?"

Asch considered a moment, wondering if Lloyd had some ulterior motive... like "sparring" really meant "kicking his ass as hard as he could". Well, if the hot headed young man thought he could try to get the better of him, he would give him a reason to think otherwise.

He motioned for Lloyd to step up, going over to mop up his sweaty face a little, before tossing his shirts a bit further away. Last thing either of them needed was to trip up on them.

For Lloyd, there wasn't really any ulterior motives than simply sparring. And he didn't thought for a second that Asch would have seen it that way, nor for Asch to think as this as an opportunity to kick his ass. Not that Lloyd would give him an easy fight either.

Unsheathing his swords, he took a step sideways, moving into a fighting stance. He nodded once to Asch to tell him that he was ready whenever the red head would feel like it.

Asch hefted the Sword of Lorelei in his hand, observing Lloyd as he readied himself. Despite his... lack of intelligence, he carried himself well. Perhaps this would be more of a challenge than he thought.

Not one to let anyone get in the first move, Asch charged as soon as Lloyd nodded. The swing was simple, easily dodged or blocked; he was going to keep this friendly... for now.

Lloyd swung his left blade in an attempt to sweep Asch's sword away from him and used the motion's momentum to slash his right sword at the other man's side. Lloyd was ready to turn his blade slightly, so that if it struck Asch, only the flat edge would touched him, slapping the naked skin slightly. There was no use in hurting themselves in Lloyd's mind. After all the young man simply wanted to train and perhaps assessing Asch as a swordsman.

Asch rolled with his deflected blade, though he still felt the tap at his side, mentally swearing at himself. Normally he would have nailed Lloyd with a Demon Fist after his sword had been deflected, but no, bad Asch. This was supposed to be friendly sparing.

He backed off a moment, regaining himself as he mentally berated his blunder. Once he was certain, he started forward again, keeping his swings as simple combos for now and blocking as needed, just to see how far Lloyd wanted to go with this.

Lloyd blocked most of the swings, dodging the others (sometimes barely, but still) and returned slashes and stabs of his own. He was always ready to turn his blades on the flat side if he thought that he would touch Asch, showing curtesy his father had thought him when training with the Angel ( ... )
