Raiden was deeply shaken from his nightmare.
On days like this, when he lulled to sleep by mistake sometime in the late hours of the morning only to be rudely awakened sometime in the early afternoon, he often found himself desperately pushing his nighttime visions to the back of his mind. He began his day with a jog around Snake's base. It looked like an old abandoned courthouse, but he couldn't imagine the last time it'd actually been in use. After a few laps of jogging, he knew he was behind in the lay of the land and what kinds of enemies he could expect in a city like that one (even if it were just a twisted VR program). Rather than stick to the now-familiar courthouse, he decided to venture out and explore the city, choosing one of the side streets and jogging on down.
In no time at all, Raiden found himself in the middle of a small European-style village. Perfect for a workout; lots of open space, not too many people. There he practiced with the neat new blade he found when he awoke on the courthouse roof. It felt natural somehow, though he was sure (he thinks) that he never used a blade before beyond his VR training missions.
For Raiden, it became clear that after hours of athletic distractionism that there was no way visions from that nightmare would leave him any time soon.
It was when he strolled around the vilage perimeter, covered in sweat and eager for a change of pace after a long day, that he discovered The Bar.
Thank goodness! Of course a city like this had to have a working bar. A few stiff drinks oughta bring him back to Earth... or at the very least, drown out the memories and let him move on with his life.
Raiden stood a few paces back from the counter, scratching the back of his head and idly searching for a drinks list.
"Uh..." Raiden half-murmured to himself. "Anyone know the strongest thing they got? Whatever it is, I want some."
