O god! Someone beat me with a stick... I can't control my muuuuuse. Too many words! D: knightmare_hime February 19 2009, 13:44:17 UTC
Unaware of the fact that she was being looked for, Cornelia had already left the ship in hopes that the ruins would provide less eventful activities until their return to Somni. Her eyes scanned the grounds with some interest. Under normal circumstances, she would have used this opportunity to find out more about Somarium. After all, it wasn’t every day that a Ghost Ship deposited you next to a pile of uncharted history. The entire voyage must have had a purpose, but Cornelia hadn’t attempted to piece anything together, and she was finding more and more that she just wanted to get home to her sister rather than roam around haunted hallways and find herself trapped in disappearing rooms ( ... )

Well it had been fun teasing Cornelia while on the ship. But now that they were at the ruined town (and how interesting it was...he couldn't help but note its features and wonder what the hell it was doing way out here), he figured he'd keep an eye out for her.

So when he happened to chance a glance at some familiar light purple hair disappearing around a corner, he couldn't help the playful smirk that rose on his lips. He glanced at the are and...how convenient. No one was around.

Silently he made his way around, and came up behind her. When he was within distance, he reached out and grabbed her sides.

The scream was partially swallowed by the wind as she whirled around, one hand moving to her gun while the other flew up for any sort of contact. She connected with skin before taking a few steps back, eyes blinking and expression altering from apprehension to surprise. "Ra-Raven? What the hell do you think you're doing?!" She scowled, arms crossing in front of her. "Tch... Idiot! I could have shot you."

Noticing the color rising to his cheek where she had hit him, her eyes lowered to the ground. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to slap you."

Somehow, he should have expected that but didn't. So he was sent spinning -- literally -- when she had slapped him.

When he managed to regain his composure, he gingerly rubbed his cheek, giving her a sheepish grin. "Well I guess I deserved it," he chuckled. "Man, that's some arm ya got there."

She couldn't help but feel a little concerned, despite his stupid grin. Taking a few steps closer, she sighed as she grabbed his hand and removed it from his cheek. "It's not too bad. You'll probably have a welt for a day or two though." Turning her eyes up at him, she frowned. "A simple hello would have sufficed."

Raven stared down at her for a moment before he leaned down a bit with a sly grin. "Now if I had done that, I wouldn't have you this close, now would I?" he said in a smooth voice, his arm going around her waist.

Like you remember what I look like after ignoring me for the past couple of days... she thought, a slight sulk rising to her expression. Quirking her eyebrow, she asked, "There a reason why you want to be this close to me?"

Even with the nonchalant attitude, she could already feel her heart racing as an attractive blush rose to her face.

"What, after all the time we've been separate? Let's just say I've been missing your lovely presence," Raven said.

She could only stare at his chest as it was impossible to meet his gaze. "I don't know what you're talking about," she lied. "What separation?"

"Well it's been pretty obvious you've been avoidin' me," he said, looking down at her with some slight concern. "I figured you needed some space, but is there somethin' else to it?"

Her face rose, mouth opening to argue. "I.... haven't..." It lowered again. "... been avoiding you. I just... thought you wouldn't want me to spend time with you since... well, we're not really together and there are so many people... and... well," she went on, stammering her way through some semblance of logic.

Raven blinked. That was the reason? And here he had though he had done something. Since. That was usually the reason.

He couldn't help but laugh a little before placing a finger under her chin and tiling her face up so she could look at him. "You really shouldn't worry about somethin' like that. I don't mind ya bein' around me, I'd kinna prefer it." Raven gave her a wink and a grin. "Can't get ta know ya if yer far away, ya know. Though," he added as an afterthought, "they do say that distance makes the heart grow fonder."

She smiled slightly. “So, are you admitting that your heart is in this?” She asked, her chin lifting to fix him with feigned surprise. Taking a step closer, she hesitated before putting her arms around his waist loosely, her lips bending into a teasing grin as she continued to stare up at him. “I’ll ask again… is there a reason why you want me this close?”

"Hmmm, maaaaybe," Raven said with a teasing grin. "Trying to steal my heart, is that it?"

He then leaned down a little closer. "Do I really need a reason?"

She blushed, feeling the heat in her body rise and a tremor of excitement stir in her stomach. “I don’t know,” she whispered, lifting to the balls of her feet and pressing some of the more curvaceous parts of her body against him. Her lips drew very close to his ear. “You tell me.”

Maybe they'd already gone off the ship, Jaina finally decided. So, she too disembarked into the ruins - perhaps she was more excited than she wanted to admit. Her natural scholarly curiosity was getting the better of her, it seemed. Might this place shed some light onto the mysteries of Somarium ( ... )
