Chi awakes from sleep mode to discover she is in an unknown place.
“Where is Chi?” she asks herself. “Chi does not know where this place is.” Chi looks around to discover she is in a place she has never seen before. She walks around a town square with a fountain in the middle looking for Hideki, who is nowhere in sight. ”Where is Hideki?” she says with an anxious look on her face. She attempts to call Hideki, but is unable to reach him. After trying all the numbers she has saved, she realizes she will be unable to reach anyone. “Is this a City?” Chi wonders. She attempts to log onto the internet and search for any information that seems to match her location, but realizes she can’t actually connect to anything. It is as if she is in a place completely disconnected from the city she knows.
“Why would Hideki leave Chi alone?” Her eyes gaze off into the distance and she sees some strange creatures at the edge of a field. “Chi remembers what those things are. Hideki told Chi about when he lived in the country with them. Those are Scarecrows!”
Chi walks over to a scarecrow as it is the closest thing to being “familiar” as anything else in this strange place.
“Hello Mr. Scarecrow, It is a pleasure to meet you!” she exclaims while bowing. She looks up and sees the scarecrow scowling at her. Frightened, she asks herself, “Maybe scarecrows are not friends?”, as she backs away.
She returns to the fountain and sits on the edge as she does not know what else to do at this point.
