Been there, done that. Which is why Alice isn't too surprised to find herself in yet another dreamworld she's been forced to inhabit.

[Whelp. The serenity was nice while it lasted. With a small jump she shifts to look up at the all too familiar knight.]

[A pause. Back?]

Have I-- Have we been here before?

[and a disappointed sigh. yes. disappointed.]

You really need to learn to keep your memories.

Well, I've been here for a while, but you've come and gone a few times. So I guess that would be a yes, we have been here before.

[That earns him an irritated frown.]

Well sorry, I hadn't realized I lost any...

Just where is "here"? It's not any place in Heartland I can recall coming to even once, never mind a few times.

"Here" is Somarium. Apparently it's part of some kind of dream world.

[That's not at all what she wanted to hear.]

[She really can't help but heave an exasperated sigh.]

I seem to have the most rotten luck with finding myself in worlds made of dreams.

Funny how that works, huh? Though you don't have to worry about "rules" or "roles" around here. Well-I suppose there are some rules and we still can't leave when we want, but it's a step up from back home. [still annoying though~]

Oh, and everyone has a face. It really took a while for me to get used to that.

[Huh. That peaks her interest a bit as she looks over to him, thoughts swirling around in her head.]

So the change applies to you as well, doesn't it? You don't have to worry about your role anymore...?

[The memory of Ace confronting her at the clock tower about his role and wishing to change it is still fresh in her mind, and there was also that whole thing about wanting to kill her... but that's been settled too just recently before her arriving.]

Not really, no. [leans back in his chair.] But there isn't really anything to do here, so it can be a bit boring.

[and an idle, bored Ace can be just as dangerous.

it's also probably a good thing that Ace squared all that stuff out in the two years that he's been in Somarium. not that he doesn't have relapses from time to time.....]

Boring isn't so bad when you think about it... There are worse things than being bored.

[Alice takes another sip of her tea before glancing back up and over to him, giving him a thoughtful smile.]

I'm happy for you, Ace, you finally have the freedom to do as you please.

So, what have you been doing with yourself while you're here?

[She really is curious, to hear about how he's been spending his free time now that he doesn't have to worry about his role.]

Mostly meeting other people and wandering around. It's rather peaceful here so there's not much excitement around. Well, except whenever the new moon happens. Things get interesting then.

Adjusting to peaceful living is actually kind of weird.

The new moon? What's so interesting about it?

[She can't help but laugh a bit at that.]

I'm sure it must feel weird, I think it will take a bit of getting used to after all the violent happenings in Heartland. I certainly won't miss any of it, though.

Yeah, it's weird. But I guess if I had to choose, I'd prefer this place.
