The sun was setting and Takuma had been up all day out and around the back yard getting things prepared for the evening. The smell of takoyaki, yakitori, and yakisoba wafted through the Western style house. Platters were set with the food laid out along the counters for the other residents to take at leisure. There was also a container of steamed rice and bowls for it to be piled as high or as low as they wanted. There were slices of watermelon as well along with gelatin cups. For beverages, there was fruit juice, green tea, and coffee.
In the backyard, colorful lanterns hung on a line that was posted up from the porch to a tree.
The fountain was full of goldfish swimming around and next to it was a box of paper nets. Next to that, was a kiddie pool filled with water and balloon yo-yos for another traditional game.
There was also a box full of sparklers and miniature fireworks for them to play with when it got even darker.
He had gone all out again, but he figured that Sasuke would enjoy it (or hate it if it triggered any memories) and D could experience something new.
"D! Sasuke!" Takuma called down from the kitchen, already in his deep green New Years Yukata. On the table sat two boxes. Inside were two matching yukata (Number 2) with different obi to set them apart.
"Please come downstairs!"
