[Seiji's just minding his business on his way to some last-minute Christmas shopping -- not that he has much to do anyway. But Kid's beckoning people about something, and it piques his curiosity.

Strolls on over to Kid's side and looks at the little guy.] What's it doing here instead of the lake? Maybe the water got too cold.

So you've seen a similar creature like this in the lake before?

[Shakes his head.] I haven't myself. I don't go looking for monsters on my own.

[Gestures at the mini-Nessie.] At least it doesn't look dangerous.

Ah, I see. [a bit disappointing, but not a real setback.]

Yes, it has a rather peaceful soul. [as if to prove it, the little creature pokes her head out and stretches her long neck out to Seiji.

[Stuffs his hands in his pockets and shrugs.] You could always check it out yourself if you're that curious.

[Seiji takes the talk about souls as an observation of the creature's demeanor rather than anything deeper. When the little -- sorry, girl cranes her neck at him, he regards Kid briefly before giving her a pet.]

It would be more efficient if someone could tell me, but if I don't receive an answer then that's what I'll do. I know I've sensed this exact same soul around the lake before. However, it would be good to have some other confirmation whether I sense a soul there or not.

[and the little Nessie is happy! yay pets. she goes back down to swim.]

I do have to wonder how long it will stay here.

[Another shrug. So expressive, this one.] There's a lot of people here. Someone's got to have seen it before. Maybe she's waiting out the cold or something in there's bothering her. [Watches her off and quirks a half-smile.

Turns back to Kid and eyebrows him.] Soul? What do you mean exactly?

I can sense the souls of everyone and everything. [slight frown.] But my Soul Perception isn't as strong as it usually is back home.

Like whether they're good or bad? [His smile widens, just a little.] That's how you know it's "peaceful," huh.

[The little girl seems like she's enjoying that fountain swim. It's cute, tranquil even. So much he doesn't realize he's been watching it for some time without regarding Kid at all. He snaps out of his trance with a soft "oh."] If you wanted to check, I'm not doing anything except Christmas shopping. [Again, not much of it either, he could put it off a weeeeee bit more.]

In a sense yes.

But not to worry. I try not to hone in on someone's soul, and I already know that there's nothing troubling about yours. [well. there is something odd about it, but nothing alarming.] I was actually planning on doing a bit of Christmas shopping myself. How is yours coming along?

[Odd? Only if you throw in girlfriends and stalkers into the mix. Neither of which are applicable. His smile curls into half a smirk.] That's good to know.

[Chuckles once.] I haven't started, but I'm not worried. I was on my way before you and her. [Looks at the little Nessie wading in the fountain. Cute.]

[a nod.] There's still a few days and the big sales will most likely occur closer to the date.

[Nessie has been peeking from under the water and now...she is starting to squirt out some water through her mouth in their general direction. will she hit!?]

[Shrugs, hands in his pockets.] We'll just have to be quick to jump on those.

[And not too soon after, baby Nessie spits at them. Seiji grunts, backs away, and swipes a hand out to block himself. Doesn't get away completely dry though.] She's got good aim. [Furrows his brow.] Has anything happened around the lake lately? I haven't really kept up with the town gossip.

[Kid only barely manages to move out of the way, though not without getting splashed on his right arm.]

[now, Kid is going to do something that will probably baffle Seiji, but he's going to be splashing his other arm. there. balance.]

Not that I know of. I was planning to take a look for myself.

[Yeah, Seiji's going to raise an eyebrow at that. Normally, someone would wipe the spill on the offended arm, but okay.]
