Even had she known that he was taking everything incorrectly, Lucy likely wouldn’t have opted to tell him otherwise. It wasn’t that she didn’t care about the man or that she wanted him to be disappointed with her reaction, she simply found it irritating that their first kiss had been initiated via the ‘magic’ of some strange city and she couldn’t change that. Lucy also didn’t really want to tell him about any feelings for him beyond their work related relationship to begin with, it wouldn’t help anything and in the end would make things considerably more difficult for them whenever they managed to get back to Rome and back to working, wouldn’t it? The blond didn’t often like to have her emotions and feelings out in the opened in the first place.

“Yeah - someone I spoke to had mentioned the ‘monsters’ around here. Not that it makes much sense either way. I mean… monsters, really?” Arms still folded over her chest, she arched a brow to him. “Yeah, everyone seems pretty peachy here.”

Despite not looking at him and completely missing the look he was giving to her, Lucy smirked to herself as he mentioned the name of his ancestor. True, he wasn’t Ezio but that didn’t change the fact that they were related which meant Lucy could at least tease him a little bit about his bloodline and the womanizing his ancestor was famed for. “You are his blood, though.”

"That was my reaction when I was first told about it when I got here. Until I got face to face with them." And as if to prove he wasn't lying, Desmond reached for the hem of his coat and shirt, lifting the left side to show the three scars he had gotten when a Noctarae had clawed him last Spring. The scars were now faint white line, but it was easy to see that he hadn't acquire them back in their world.

"We had blizzards and floods too. Oh, and a giant statue ruining the city. It's been a blast, really." The more they were talking, the more Desmond was seeing how he had really missed Lucy. Not only since he had woken up, but since he had showed up in Somarium. He had missed their banter, missed her support and the way she seemed to making everything worth fighting for. It made the thought of what he had done to her even harder to bear and Desmond forced himself not to think about it at the moment.

It was his turn to cross his arms over his chest, his lips turning into a slight pout: "Well, maybe, but apparently some skills aren't passed through Animus sessions." He wasn't awkward with women, generally, but he was no where as suave and charming as his Italian ancestor.
