It'd only been a few days since Ouka had arrived, but she was already getting the hang of things here in Somarium. She missed her family, but having Omi here with her helped a great deal. Especially since... well... he'd called her important. Important to him

As it was, he was certain Tsukiyono had tried with the little princess the question was just how well--a repeat performance of their last encounter, although with a slightly different ending here in Somarium, would be an interesting time. Running into the girl while out and about was just luck on his part.

But that wasn't exactly how Ouka operated. And, dammit, she wanted to give him a piece of her mind, for leading her on and making her think that he was a friend of Omi's. (Though, in his defense, Schuldig had said no such thing.) She hesitated for a brief moment, debating in her mind what to do.
Finally, she decided that the streets were crowded enough that there was no way Schuldig could do anything dangerous. So, instead of walking away, Ouka steeled herself and walked straight toward him.

He let her get closer before offering up a greeting to the silly thing, "Hello Miss Ouka, it's so nice to see you again."

He was so calm about everything. It frustrated her even more to see him just stand there and greet her in such a way. She stops in front of him, and places her hands on her hips.
"Just how, exactly, do you know Omi-kun?"
Forget greetings, from the sounds of it, you don't really deserve one anyways.

Her question does provoke a laugh from him however. How ever did Omi explain it to you dear princess? "I told you, we're acquaintances of sorts."

She frowns at the laugh. "And what, exactly, is that supposed to mean?"

And then the best way to turn this around came to him. "I was asked to keep an eye on him, for your father." The truth comes in the oddest flavors sometimes.

For a moment, Ouka is at a loss for words. But then, she mentally shook herself out of her shock. This didn't add up. Why would Father ask someone to keep an eye on Omi? And why would keeping an eye on someone end up with that person calling you dangerous? After all, keeping an eye on someone was fairly harmless.
"Father wouldn't ask that of anyone." Though, perhaps he would. If she really does start dating Omi in her future -- and that, in itself, is an odd thought... -- then there was a chance that Father would ask someone to keep an eye on him, just for her safety, considering how precious she was to him.
But even still, Omi wouldn't do anything wrong. And therefore, keeping an eye on him would never amount to anything. Schuldig must have done something more than just 'keep an eye on Omi.'

"As one of his honored bodyguards it's my job to make sure no harm comes to him and that means making sure no harm comes to you either." Not yet at least, Farfarello's bullet was still a ways off for her. "That includes checking on outsiders who might have hidden agendas." Like killing off her father for his crimes.

"Omi isn't like that." To any normal person, Ouka would've come off as 100% confident in that statement. But, to the more observant person (or a person who has the ability to read minds...) there's a slight shake in her voice. "You won't find out anything by keeping an eye on him. So lay off."
That was an order, Schuldig. If you work for her father, you must also work for her, by default, right...? That's totally how that works.

"I'm sure he's the most honest, good, and innocent person ever," at least in the realm of Takatori crimes, "but I wouldn't be doing my job if I neglected to watch him. And since you're still a minor," bet Tsukiyono never saw this coming--hell, he's rather surprised by it himself, "until your father arrives, or you go back home, I'm afraid your safety and well being are my duty. Kind of a in loco parentis."

In the face of absolute reason that she simply couldn't argue against... the only thing she could think of was an indignant, childlike response. "I don't need you to look after me." Yes, that was quite mature... "I'm perfectly fine, here, on my own. I've managed for years."
Nevermind the fact that, when she was on her own that one time, she'd ended up getting kidnapped and hunted down in her own half-brother's game...

And he'd said that he'd watched over her before. It was a little scary, the thought that someone had been watching over her, and she hadn't even known anything about it. But it made sense -- unfortunately -- as he knew her before she even knew who he was. And even Omi had said that this man knew her.
Schuldig was also spot-on when he mentioned the murderers here. Omi had mentioned one already.
Really, so far, everything he'd said made perfect sense. And was going against everything -- which wasn't much, mind you -- that Omi had said about him. Ouka's head hurt. Something wasn't right here, but she couldn't figure out what. Nothing matched up.
"He's not paying you here," she said finally, still very much sporting her huffy, indignant tone. "So why don't you just leave Omi-kun and I alone?"

Schuldig won all around with this.
"Not everyone works just for the money, some people work because they enjoy their jobs and want to be the best at them." Okay, so he was doing to more to annoy the hell out of Tsukiyono but still...
"I never said I'd interfere, just that I'd make sure nothing bad happened to you. Your precious Omi-kun couldn't possibly find fault with that now could he?" Because if he did, well that would just seem odd wouldn't it? Her boyfriend not wanting her to be protected by every means possible...

There was no winning this conversation. This has also, quite unfortunately, raised more questions. But those were questions she'd much rather ask Omi than this man.
Finally, she relents. But not without crossing her arms in front of her chest and giving Schuldig the most dirty look she can muster, first. "I suppose that'll be fine. So long as you don't bother Omi-kun."
Because, despite the fact that Schuldig had given absolutely no inclination that he was dangerous (quite the contrary, actually) it still didn't negate the fact that Omi had warned her against him.
