[ Harry's heart was pounding as he looked at the door to Franziska's office. He'd been here a few times before, to drop off a report or what not, but this was unlike any time before it. He swallowed once before

Enter. [When Harry should finally have the nerve to enter her office, he'll find the smaller woman sitting stiffly at her immaculate desk, staring straight in his direction and waiting for his explanation.

Her whip is out of sight, but probably not far.]

[ It doesn't take Harry long to push open the door and head into the office. Seeing McGonagall was never this bad. Well maybe it was. ]

Mrs. von Karma. [ At least he'd regained the sense to use her last name. ]

[Good, she's pleased. Though, as usual, it is so difficult to tell with Franziska von Karma.

Her intense level stare never falters as the teenage boy enters her office. How odd that such a tiny woman could make nearly any man tremble with that icy cold glare of hers.]

So, you finally decided to return. [A gloved hand motions towards the empty seat across from her.] Explain yourself.

[ Harry took a seat slowly. He was no stranger to strong women but that didn't make her any less intimidating, especially right now. ]

I was actually in the hospital for about a week. Sick before hand. [ He wondered if she had known that, but then as much insanity that had been going on he doubted it. ] I probably shouldn't have helped keep that statue out of Espoir actually. [ He laughs a little nervously then. It really hadn't been his choice considering the thing went straight through his room. ]

[Whether or not Franziska had been aware of Harry's brief stay at the hospital or not was a mystery for the moment. Her cool expression betrayed nothing.]

What's done, is done. There is no reason to so foolishly waste your time regretting actions done in the past.

[The smallest of pauses.] Continue. [Oh, she knows there is more.]

[ At that command Harry actually looked a little ill. He swallowed again and tried not to let his gaze waver, but he couldn't manage it. His view dropped to a spot on Franziska's desk. ]

I'm sure you know what the sickness did to a lot of people, and [ He paused then trying to gather up the courage to say what he was about to say. Harry still couldn't believe he had done it. ]

I killed someone.

[Despite her near frozen posture and her unusual silence, Franziska was watching her underling like a hawk, icy gaze staring down the younger boy intently as he spoke. Yes, it was true she had heard the tales of what had been going on in the city, and she had also been involved first hand in them, unfortunately, but there was only the slightest tilt of her head to show she was listening and aware of the information Harry provided.

However, even Franziska is only human. Her perfect brows contract barely at the mention of the murder. Apparently it was not what she was expecting of the boy.]

And you did this while under the influence of that foolish sickness, did you not?

[ It wasn't something Harry would have expected of himself either, at least under saner circumstances, then again that was a lie wasn't it? No sense in trying to explain to Franziska that the spell he'd cast to kill Draco was the same spell he'd nearly killed the blond with back home. ]

Yeah, it was but...

[ But Harry still felt guilty regardless of the plea to insanity. ]

[Though rarely one to prompt, Franziska does so, just for this one occasion.]

But..?

I should have been able to stop myself.

[ There he said it. Though any rational person would have known and been able to see at the state Harry had been in there would not have been a way for Harry to stop himself. Izzy proved that the hard way by having to knock Harry unconscious in order to drag him back to the hospital. ]

Don't be a fool. [Her reply is quick, with absolutely no hesitation on her part.]

Would you have blamed another person if they had attacked you while under the same influence of Somarium's illness?

[sonuvasnitch]

[ There's a short pause while Harry puts himself in someone else's shoes. If it had been his Dad or Sirius, or if he'd been in his right mind and Draco had done it, then no he wouldn't have blamed them. ]

...

[ He closes his eyes and shakes his head. ]

No, I wouldn't.

Then then stop playing the part of a foolish fool and accept responsibility for your actions.

[This time she does pause. Despite her seven years as a working prosecutor, Franziska has not actually been put into a situation at all similar to this one. She's attempting to handle it as fairly and delicately as possible. For her.]

You are hereby suspended from action. You will turn in your badge immediately to me. In six weeks time we will renew your case file and see if you are once again fit for work as an officer of the law. During those weeks off, you will seek counseling under an appointed therapist to help determine your mental stability.

Understood?

[ Harry opened his mouth to say that accepting responsibility was exactly what he was trying to do. Granted it took him a week or so to figure that out, but at least he was hear now. His mouth promptly shut again as Franziska started talking and then dropped for a second time when she didn't throw him in jail. ]

I...Yes.

...Hand me your badge.

[ Harry shifted in his seat a bit as he reached into his coat and pulled out the badge that had been his for a little over a year and a half. It was sad to see it leave, but if he was alright after a month then his career would not be completely shot. Unless Lucius Malfoy had some say in it.

[ But Harry wasn't thinking about that just yet. For now he handed over the badge feeling a little relieved. ]
