It was very rare for Kamui to be in the city, but he had errands to run and it couldn't be avoided. Plus, it was good to get fresh air after being cooped up in the manor, playing find the pumpkins. He needed a break. So there he was walking with purpose through the throngs of people, until he spotted a familiar face. The vampire had to do a double take, not believing what he first saw. He stopped in his tracks, completely in disbelief and shock."...Subaru?"

He slowly approached the other, just in case it was some kind of illusion. Somarium had cruelly done that once to him before."Subaru...are you really here in Somarium?"

Hearing his name Subaru turned around to see the other approaching him. He didn't recognize him, which was unusual since he was normally good about remembering people's names and faces when they had met. Giving a polite bow Subaru smiled, "Ah, yes I am. I'm sorry I didn't know that there was anyone waiting on me."

Well maybe he would find out why he had arrived after all, this was the person that had known his name; maybe they knew his grandmother or maybe Hokuto.

Kamui blinked, surprised that the other didn't recognize him. Subaru was treating him like a complete stranger. But this was Subaru, he had the same eyes, hair....everything...except he couldn't sense the other's vampiric side at all.This Subaru was not his brother, he was human. Kamui was disappointed, but he didn't let that show on his face. He watched as the other bowed politely, that odd custom that the people in Tokyo did.

He couldn't say he was his twin brother from another world, he doubt the other would believe it, despite this being a dream world.But even if this person was not his brother, he still felt a need to protect him."...Don't worry, I wasn't waiting too long." Kamui extended his hand toward Subaru."My name is Kamui. I'm a friend."

Smiling at the greeting Subaru bowed again, "It's nice to meet you Kamui-san, I'm Subaru Sumeragi." Pausing for a moment Subaru laughed and rubbed the back of his head, "But if you were waiting I guess you already knew that."

Subaru could tell that there was something special about Kamui, his spiritual presence was different from most peoples. But they were in a dream world so maybe it was just something like that. After a few moments of fiddling he continued, "Is this your dream?"

Sumeragi? So this Subaru had a surname. The vampire was curious to what that meant for him. Maybe he would learn in due time. Kamui shook his head as the other's question."This is no one's dream. This is a world powered by dreams, and the self that is standing here is a dream self."

Subaru nodded, "Well I knew that this was a projection of myself since a few jobs have required me to enter into someone else's consciousness or dream walk. But I don't think grandmother has ever spoken about a world powered by dreams."

Then again none of the dreams had ever been a city either let alone one that was named and had such a diverse population.

"Another difference is that you wasn't brought to this world consciously. We're still not very clear on why we were brought here,but I think that woman will reveal that very soon." Kamui commented with a hint of distrust. Even if Sylvani was nothing but benevolent so far, the vampire couldn't bring himself to trust anyone he continued to hide things from everyone.

"For now, you should get settled. You don't know how long you'll be staying."

"That woman? So there is someone that brought us here?" She must have had a large amount of spiritual power then to bring this many people to a single dream world. Though the idea that no one knew the reason was a little unnerving as well.

"How long have you been here Kamui-san?" Subaru had seen one of two inns that he could probably find his way back to, though he wasn't exactly sure how you paid for something in a dream world or if any of his money would have even come with him in his astral form.

"Sylvani, she's the overlord of Somarium. She's the only one who knows why we were brought here. But bringing us here wasn't her doing either. She told me that the Dream Gates that connect this world to other worlds are unstable.If you stay here long enough, you'll see that people come and go. The reason is the Dream Gates." Kamui explained. Although, he knew the way to leave was through the Dream Gates, knowing this information was half the journey. The gates were hard to find, and you had to connect to a certain frequency to find it. But the brunette had some hope, finding out that the teleporters were capable of finding the frequency of the dream gates.

When it came to the question about how long he's been here, Kamui didn't want to answer."A year." The vampire finally replied, looking to Subaru to see if that bothered the other. It should, just as it bothered him."As for a place to stay...you can stay at the manor. I live there with many others. The woman who owns it is a friend of mine,and she wouldn't mind if you stayed."

A year, he was obviously a little discomforted at the idea. The only time he had been away from Hokuto for that period of time was the year that he had been taken off to train on his own. That year, in which he was to become the next head of the Sumeragi clan, was the loneliest time of his life. "Ah, you must miss your family then."

At the offer he looked a little shocked, "Are you sure? I wouldn't want to intrude or impose on anyone."

Kamui doesn't say anything when Subaru commented that he missed his family. The onmyouji didn't know the half of it. Especially, how difficult it was for him to stare into a face so identical to his brother's, and yet this person was not him.

"It's fine. She will welcome you with open arms." Kamui assured the other. And it was true, Serenity would allow Subaru stay without a second thought.Kamui added,"I insist."

If he had known about Kamui's twin then he would have felt guilty as well, though he would also understand as well and could probably try a little to comfort the other. He was however caught off guard by the fact that the other insisted that he stay with them, bowing a again he smiled. "Alright then, thank you for taking care of me and providing me a place to stay. I promise that I won't take up much room or do anything to disrupt your house."

"I'm sure you won't." Kamui replied, knowing this personally. The Subaru he knew always placed other before himself, and he was very accommodating, dealing with less so other's could have more. The vampire stepped forward in a certain direction."I'll show you where it is, unless there is something you need from here?"

"Oh no, I was looking around since I've never seen a place like this before. Actually I was kind of lost."

He followed Kamui, glad to have some idea of what to do now and where he was going. Though it still wasn't comforting to not know why he was there, at least the people had seemed nice enough and there was someone here that knew who he was.

"You said it was a friend that owns the place we're going, but she lets a lot of people stay there?"

"As far as I know, there's only three people living there currently. Myself included. But at one point, she did have a quite a few people there. But it's a large place, it's easy to go unnoticed if you want to." Kamui explained,knowing that was one of his concerns when moving in. He wasn't much of people person and he kept his interactions with people at the minimal. He was easily able to be left to his devices, and have company if he wanted to.

"Her name is Serenity, she's also the headmistress of the Academy here. So if you plan on continuing your studies, you can talk to her about it." Kamui added, feeling that Subaru should at least know the person that would be housing him."Do you have any questions?"

"I think that would be good, to get to talk to her. If she's going to be kind enough to let me stay, and I guess it would be good to go to school here; I've had to miss so many classes at home that sometimes I fell behind."

Luckily a number of his instructors had been understanding and would give him time to make up the work or alternatives to earn the credit for the days that he had missed. As for questions, Subaru shook his head, "No, Kamui-san has been really helpful. Thank you, I wouldn't want to keep you from what you were doing."

He didn't want to impose by asking a lot of things and he needed a little bit of time to think about what he had been told so far anyways before he tried figuring anything else out.
