Zack had told her that Desmond had found her like... that. She didn't want anyone to have seen that, least of all him. He didn't deserve it. But, she had a feeling deep down that he had seen more than he had let on. It was the look in his eyes. A bit more world-weary, like a lot of the people she knew.
She couldn't hesitate any longer. In she went, ducking through the crowd of people to get to the bar where she knew he was. Waiting until he was done with his latest customer before announcing her presence. "The night's looking good so far."

And so he was taken by surprise when he turned around to face Tifa, her eyes lit up with life as opposed to the dull, painful look he'd seen last in them. Something in his chest flipped and the novice attributed it to the relief of seeing her alive again. With a grin, he took the few steps that separated them and before he knew it, his arms had come around her shoulders and he was pulling her into a hug. Embarrassed by his sudden forwardness, he let Tifa go with a sheepish smile:
"Sorry....I was starting to think you'd left this place after dying."

"They can't get rid of me that easily. I'm tougher than I look."
She looked down a moment before taking a seat across from him. "Zack told me you were the one that found me."

He let her settle in front of him, the bar now separating them and he nodded: "Yeah. You were late and you're never let so I went to see if something was wrong and..." He swallowed slowly before frowning as the bloodied images of her body on the streets twirled in his mind, the memories quickly mixing themselves to others from his ancestors' lives. Gritting his teeth, he managed to push them away, focusing on the brunette in front of him, on her smile and and her eyes full of life now.
"Do you....do you remember anything?"
Reply
"Could you get me something? Anything to drink."
She needed something to deal with it. She wasn't sure how to. Taking had made it somewhat okay, but inwardly, she still felt a mess. It dredged up old memories that she tried desperately to hide.

"Yeah, sure. Sorry I asked, Tifa." He then went to grab a bottle of whiskey, seeing as she had shared his that night on the rooftop. He poured two shot glasses and pushed one in front of the brunette, the one for himself, and kept the bottle not too far from them. They might both needed it after all.
"I....I'm just glad you're back." He then raised his glass and downed the liquor.

"I remember it being sudden. There's still bits and pieces that I don't remember - like a glimpse of her face or anything important. But I remember the pain. I had only felt that kind of pain once, back when I was younger."

He could only imagine how she felt, and despite all his good intentions to be a somewhat comforting sight for her, Desmond frowned lightly at the mention of pain.
"You've died before?"
