[No, this is nowhere Ken wants to be.
[Churches are bad enough at the best of times. They're just... they take him places and make him think things, and he doesn't like the places and he doesn't like the thoughts. So he stays out of churches, because what's the point in going somewhere if all you want to do once you get there is get the Hel-- is leave as soon as is humanly possible? Probably it's a sign that Ken needs to be there more than he could ever know, but what can he do about that? It's just the way things worked out and it doesn't matter if he likes it or not when either way he's stuck with it.
[Ken wouldn't want to be here ordinarily. He definitely doesn't want to be here now - not knowing who it is he's going to be meeting here, and what they're going to have to talk about. (He'd known it was coming, known it since the day he'd first realized the kid was even here, but still he'd hoped--)
[The church is better than the alternative, that's all. They're sacred spaces, peaceful spaces. Ken has enough respect for them - enough respect for the faith he was born to, however bad he is at living by its laws - to remember that.
