End of the Nightmare
What was originally supposed to be simply an informational session and a chance to see what had happened in the past turned out to be more of a nightmare than the easy-going, laid back session of revelations and truth that Sylvani had planned it to be. Nobody had foreseen the return of Nitiri, let alone her trapping the dreamers in the dreamscape that Sylvani had created and attacking them. The ‘Nightmare Queen’ had seen it as a great opportunity to ‘take care of a problem’ and to once again reveal the power that she held.
“This has gone on long enough, Nitiri. You won’t be allowed to continue.” Firm in her stance, Sylvani would not back down nor would she allow Nitiri to do any more harm.
The response from Nitiri was a laugh and an extension of her arm, sending more of her forces towards Sylvani and those who stood to fight with her. “This time will be different.”
“We shall see about that,” was the firm, calm response to Nitiri’s goading words.
As the dream energy continued to pour in, helping (or hindering) those who were helping Sylvani, she continued to gather strength and force until she was able to weaken Nitiri once again. On the edge of defeat, Nitiri gave one last push in an effort to take down Sylvani and win, but she was defeated once more, pushed out and sent back to where she had came. Before parting, however, she offered one last cryptic message: “This isn’t the last you’ve seen of me, Sylvani. I’ll be back soon and next time you won’t be able to win.”
The promise of Nitiri’s return once more gave Sylvani pause, but she didn’t allow her fear to be shown. Turning to those who were left, she offered a heartfelt smile. “Thank you for all that you have done. But now, it is time for you to be released.” With those spoken words the dreamscape faded around everyone and those who had been trapped found themselves waking back into Somarium in whatever place they had been prior to entering the dreamscape. Those who were on the outside during the events would find that their friends were finally awake once more and not stuck in some perpetual sleep.
As the effects slowly disappeared, everyone felt a sense of calm starting to envelope Somarium once more as things shift back to a normal state of existence.
