Since Vincent had arrived, Ada had done much thinking, all on the subject of their relationship. There was already a line which she had stepped over unknowingly and he seemed upset about it, even if he didn't say as much. He wasn't cruel, ( Read more... )

He wasn't really happy to be interrupted. Then again, Vincent wasn't ever particularly happy to be interrupted, even if he didn't have anything special to do in this 'dreamland' that he had found himself in.

At the moment, what he was doing was shredding the drapes in his room, rather listlessly, more out of boredom than anger. He considered just ignoring the person to see if they went away, but he supposed he should at least check to see who it was.

Perhaps it would be someone amusing, somehow. Maybe it would be someone he could piss off, at the very least. Vanessa, perhaps.

He didn't bother to set his scissors down as he crossed the floor to the door, shreds of fabric still stuck between the long blades. But as soon as he opened the door - just enough to step through - and saw who his visitor was, he blinked and tucked the scissors away into a pocket.

"What a nice... surprise."

Only then did she realize it was probably not the most polite to call upon him so directly without warning, however, there was no way to take it back once she had knocked.

Ada was greatly relieved that he did not seem bothered by it; but rather than treat it as an inconvenience, acted pleased enough. She believed the words he said to her, because she loved him and because she loved him, she trusted him.

"I hope I'm not intruding, coming so suddenly..." At first she thought to apologize, but she didn't want him to think that she was sorry for coming, because she really did not regret that at all.

"Miss Ada."

Vincent's tone was quite soft, fond even. And while a part of him very much wanted to say 'you are intruding, go away', those were not the words that passed his lips.

"My dear, aren't we past such ideas? Your company is always appreciated. I do hope you don't think it rude if I don't invite you in, however. A lady such as yourself is too lovely to grace a place like my rooms, I'm afraid."

He held out his hand to her, smiled sweetly down.

Oh. Right. There would be a few who would be none too pleased if she were to be spending time in his room no less. Whatever would they think? Well... she had an idea what they would think. And she certainly didn't want that. It was bad enough that they knew now because of her.

"Then... would you care to join me?"

A date. She wanted to be with him right now. She didn't care how or what it was. This was Vincent. She would be happy as long as she could be with him.
