[ No matter how long she's been in Somarium, Morgana still couldn't get enough of how different it was from Camelot. She'd finally gotten up the courage to venture out completely alone, but had somehow gotten herself lost. ]
[ And she was wandering around, staring up in wonder at the tall buildings rather than looking at exactly where she was going, when she nearly crashed into someone. ] Oh! No, it was my-- [ She stops short just as the other person does well. Merlin... just the person she'd been hoping to speak to. She'd had so many questions to ask him ever since she arrived here, and yet had rarely ever gotten a chance to be alone with him. Though, it seemed understandable, as she was sure both Arthur and Merlin probably had a lot to do here in this new world. ]
[ It was Merlin that spoke first, and it wasn't hard to miss his nervousness. She just smiles in return. ] Merlin! I thought I would take a walk around the city, but I seem to have gotten myself completely lost. It is quite good fortune that I'd bump into you.
Sorry for being so slow :caeoelingweardSeptember 16 2011, 16:55:05 UTC
[Oh, it just figures that she's lost, doesn't it. So much for smiling and nodding before making a quick escape. The young man shifts uneasily on his feet, just barely managing to meet Morgana's eyes for a moment before looking away again. His unease perfectly understandable considering how he and she had parted ways.
Frankly, Merlin doesn't quite understand why Morgana hasn't said anything; he'd almost expected, at the very best, to be expelled from Arthur's presence with the penalty of death should he show his face around either the prince or Uther's ward again.
It takes him a minute to realize he hasn't said anything in return.]
Oh! No, no no no, I couldn't let you, Milady. [His smile is weak.] Besides, you know Arthur would pitch a fit if I didn't carry every ounce myself. But ah.. Perhaps we should get back? Wouldn't want him fretting if he can't find you.
No need to worry! RL happenssecretpendragonSeptember 17 2011, 19:01:10 UTC
[ The thought of just coming out and exposing Merlin as the murderer that he was had crossed Morgana's mind. After all, who would Arthur believe -- the king's ward that he'd grown up with, or a mere servant (that he complained didn't do his job properly to begin with)? But then she'd remembered the suspicion that Arthur had shown her the last time they had all been in Camelot together. And there was also the fact that there were a few people here who already knew she was a witch. ]
[ No, it was definitely better to hold off for now, and try to figure things out for herself, before doing anything. ]
[ She nods, not bothering to make another offer of help. ] Getting back would be great. Really, Merlin, where would I be if I had not bumped into you.
I.. I suppose you'd be lost still? [Yep. That was a fantastically weak attempt at a joke. Merlin mentally congratulates himself on his pathetic display.] It's erm.. This way.
[He normally would have gestured to indicate the direction, but his arms are still woefully laden with their food supplies. Instead he simply turns and continues along the path he'd been on, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Morgana is following. He glances back at her again after a few moments, looking almost as though he's about to say something but thinks better of it.
What was there to talk about, after all? With his luck, he'll definitely slip up and make some sort of comment regarding how she's.. well, alive. That would go over well.
...Merlin fidgets as he walks, the tension that might be only in his own mind starting to get to him.] So. Ehm. How.. has this dreamland been treating you?
[ She follows without a word, noticing the look that he's given her. Still, Merlin had always seemed a rather... nervous person, so it wasn't altogether odd for him to be acting this way. ]
[ Morgana has to smile, however, at the opening he gave her. ]
Quite well, actually. It certainly isn't Camelot, but there are advantages to this dreamland as well. [ She casts a side-glance in Merlin's direction as she says her next words, watching for a reaction. ] I've met many magical folk here, who are not afraid of showing off their abilities.
[ A beat. ]
And speaking of the legendary sorcerers from their histories.
[ From the way people like Tamaki and James had reacted to the name Merlin, Morgana had little doubt that if they'd met Merlin themselves, they'd have reacted in a similar fashion. She wondered if he'd heard his name spoken with the same awe as she had. ]
[Merlin can't help being skittish; it's not exactly his fault that he has so many things he's forced to hide.
He's unaware that he's being scrutinized as Morgana speaks. Even so, his reaction isn't one that's overly dramatic. His lips tighten, a sign of mild discontentment as he's reminded of Camelot's views of magic, of the oppression that faces him whenever he returns.]
It's good to know that not everywhere is like Camelot. [His eyebrows skyrocket as he realized what he's just said to the king's ward. Merlin twists his head sideways to look at her as they continue.] I mean! Not that I'm contesting His Majesty's rule! I just.. [can't approve of it] It must be nice, not having to hide.
[Those words are said with complete sincerity, his gaze still on Morgana. He still doesn't know what to think about her involvement with Morgause, but.. she had seemed just as confused and panicked as he and Arthur had been when Camelot had come under attack
( ... )
[ Ever since figuring out that she was a witch, Morgana had become more reserved with expressing her feelings toward the state that Camelot was in. However, they weren't in Camelot now. And Uther wasn't there with them. ]
[ Her only concern was if word slipped to Arthur that she was a witch. She wasn't ready for that to come out, just yet. But Merlin already knew, and he hadn't let any information get to Arthur as of yet. And even if he did, she didn't think Arthur would believe the words of Merlin over her own. ]
[ Her eyes narrow a little at Merlin's words. not having to hide. Was he hiding something from her? But she answers his question, first. ]
Yes. It is a strange thing, Merlin. It seems that many people know of Camelot. But only in their histories. Can you believe it? We're history to some people.
