Summary: Itachi returns Sasuke eye to him, but when a brother who hated you returns something precious, what are you supposed to do?

Pain coursed through every limb of Sasuke's body, but more than anything there was a horrid burning in the socket where his Sharingan had once been. Sasuke hadn't pushed himself this hard since right after Zabuza's first attack. He had promised himself then that he would become strong enough to never fear the rogue ninja or anyone else again. Sasuke had let himself down with the arrival of Itachi, and when his eye was stolen, it only drove home the point that he was weak and powerless. Granted the circumstances of the theft had been less than ideal for the young ninja. He had never had to deal with the drugs that had rendered his body useless to him, but he still blamed himself for being caught of guard.
The subsequent looks of pity from his friends here in Somarium hadn't helped matters. What good was he to any of them if he could be caught off guard so easily? He knew now what that answer was, so foolishly, he had gotten right back to training never mind his injury. Despite the healing both Mami and Hatori had offered him, the socket still hurt, as if his body knew what it was missy, and it served as a constant reminder of his weakness. With the memory of the home invasion still fresh in his mind, Sasuke locked the door behind him as he entered his house. He knew it would do little good if someone really wanted to break in, but as an extra precaution he put up some trip wires that were attached to some shuriken and kunai. At least his assailant would have something to look forward to if they attempted to take the other eye they'd left behind.
