In the fading light of Somarium, Uchiha Sasuke was walking tiredly back to his home. He'd spent the entire week training, working on getting his body prepared and stronger than that of his older brother. The older man's arrival in Somarium had shaken Sasuke to the very core of his being, and it had confused him. His brother hadn't come to kill him yet. Then again, Sasuke thought bitterly to himself, with as weak as he was what challenge would that be? Never mind that Itachi had offered himself up to Sasuke's knife, it had probably been a ploy anyway ( ... )

Luck, more than anything, brought the boy into Muraki's view as he walked at night. He'd become fascinated by his eyes as soon as he saw that dream, so to have the chance to actually take one eye for himself seemed like an opportunity too good to pass up. He couldn't simply teleport behind him these days; he could, however, follow from a safe distance until he found his home.

After a few silent minutes, he tested the back door, found it unlocked, and crept inside like a sliver of light in the darkness. Muraki prepared a sedative injection with the help of what moonlight peered through the windows. Even if he gave a little too much, the worst likely to happen was that his target slept rather than remained awake and groggy.

He found the boy's bedroom and slowly crept inside. From that dream, he know to play safe against someone who knew how to fight.

Had Sasuke not spent the whole week training until near exhaustion he may have noticed Muraki's silent entrance into his home. As it was he continued to sleep perfectly unaware of the danger that was approaching him.

He shifted in his sleep turning towards Muraki his face slackened and soft in sleep. The eyes that Muraki wanted so badly hidden behind thin, veined lids.

Muraki had the feeling he wouldn't stay quite so asleep for long, but for a moment he stood and watched him sleep before he tugged on latex gloves and checked the syringe one last time. With everything set, he stepped in closer, firmly grabbed Sasuke's left arm with his left hand and jabbed the needle into the muscle in his upper arm. It was the best target without having to get the boy's pants down.

Sasuke's eyes snapped open with a start. He cried out as he felt the sharp bite of the needle in his arm, and as he turned too look up at his assailant his mind tricked him into seeing Itachi there rather than Muraki. A brief moment of panic filtered through Sasuke's being before logic and rational took over. Muraki was far too tall to be his brother and Itachi wouldn't have started with his arm.

He activated his sharingan, the very eyes Muraki wanted, before swinging his right hand forward in a quick jab to his assailants left elbow.

Muraki was taller than most people, really, and that fact tended to get him in more trouble than the advantages he'd usually have from being tall. It made him stand out when people tried to describe him to the police. But if Sasuke were the type to go to the authorities, hopefully shock and medication would cloud what he remembered.

He winced when he felt that blow to his elbow, but for now it only hurt a little. Another blow or two, though, and that arm wouldn't be quite as useful as it once was.

Another blow was exactly what Muraki received and this one was slightly charged with chakra. If it weren't for the drugs coursing quickly now through his body, in this instance adrenaline was working against him, the blow would have been far more crippling than it was.

Sasuke's eyes widened as his vision temporarily swam before him. He slumped forward a bit, but still managed to shoot a glare up at Muraki. What had this man done to him?

This time, he winced and his arm fell, pain shooting up to his shoulder and down to his wrist. Muraki would have to look at it later; for now, there were more important things to do.

As the sedative took effect, he tugged the needle out, dropped it back into his bag, and grabbed both the small jar and the scalpel. Without proper clamps, he used his aching left arm to hold Sasuke's right eye open.

"This won't hurt for long. I promise."

Sasuke's eyes widened inadvertently helping his assailant. God what was he planning on doing? But it didn't take a genius to figure that out as the jar and scalpel came into Sasuke's view. His heart pounded wildly in his chest aiding the drugs to help slow his body down. His sharingan already made everything seem slower and the drugs made it so much worse.

Everything was happening in slow motion and Sasuke was powerless to stop it.

His other hand came up and tried to grasp at Muraki's arm to push him off but it felt so heavy.

God how had he been so stupid? Why hadn't he bothered to lock the door? Why had he trained so hard that he would make himself an easy target.

"N-no...stop!" Sasuke's voice came out thick and muddled to his own ears.

He had no way of knowing the ability that made everything seem to move slower to his unfortunate victim, but after taking it, learning about it would add an extra layer of horrific amusement to Muraki's mind. How amusing that a skill meant to help in combat made things worse when someone powerless took advantage of him.

"I need this more than you do," he said darkly before he began to make the careful cuts he'd need. Muraki didn't want to damage anything more than the inevitable trauma that came from removing an eye in the first place. Since he had his own optic nerves still, he wouldn't need to take Sasuke's. Slice by slice, he worked until, with one small tug, the eye fell into his gloved hand.

Pain instantly sliced through Sasuke's eye and into every corner of his body. He didn't even register the irony of the words as the knife sliced into him. A scream ripped it's way out of Sasuke's throat, and he tried to thrash on the bed but his limbs felt like lead.

It was horrifying being trapped in his own skin and not able to do a think to stop what was happening to him.

A gut wrenching nausea overcame Sasuke then, but he somehow managed to choke it back, as the world went flat with the loss of vision on his right side.
