[She's not normally one to greet newcomers, since they all find ways to adapt, and can gather information from residents actually willing to sit there and explain it, but this was certainly something. While she can sympathize, as she, herself, was once in a position similar to theirs, she can't rightfully muster the patience to do it.

And so she observes off to the side, this obviously new resident much more interesting than the ones she's seen thus far. Less helpless, what with the clearly visible weapon, and haughty, confident (perhaps borderline cocky) attitude. Snapping one of those infernal straw men in half with the mere grip of his hand, where everyone else would surely question it or run in fear.

It's interesting, and while she would prefer to not interfere, as that would lead to conversing, and in turn lead to explaining, she just can't help it. He's not helpless, at least in a physical sense, but as he speaks into the device, upside down and in the wrong option (the blinking red light is a dead give away), intervention is her only option.

That's a more embarrassing kind of helpless, slightly painful to watch. And so she walks up to him, slow and careful strides, her own weapon sheathed and her own red cape swishing behind her.]

I hope you realize that you're using it incorrectly.

[ It was a damn good thing that Thor had learned a thing or two about humility because when Lightning decided to tell him that he was holding the Dreamberry wrong, he looked a little less insulted than he probably should have.

In fact, as he pulled the device away from his head he chuckled under his breath, ]

I'm not surprised. I have little experience with Midgardian technology like this outside of what my friend Darcy has shown me. Could you assist me, perhaps?

[How fortunate that he has, because their meeting here would have been a hell of a lot more rocky were that the case.

In fact, the humility almost throws her for a loop, and she finds herself with the inability to scowl at him for his incompetence. Maybe she, too, had learned a thing or two on humility.]

I'll do what I can... [There's a small hesitance to her voice, like she's questioning, but she quickly rectifies that by taking another wide step forward.

She takes the device from his hand, the thought of even asking for permission to not even dawning on her, and flips it in the proper position, placing it back shortly after.]

For starters, you hold it like this. [She then places a finger over the video call button, and presses to deactivate.] You'd be wise to avoid that button as well, unless you have a reason for using it.

[ He offers a smile to the woman, looking only mildly surprised when she suddenly takes the device from his hands. She obviously knows what she's doing despite that earlier hesitant tone, so he just stands there until she sets it back in his hand.

He takes note of what she says, how the screen looks when right-side up and nods, ] Is that what I would use to contact others then? By pressing this. [ and just as she turned the video call button off, he presses it again to turn it on, then off again. He looks pretty proud of himself. ] easier than I thought. I thank you, Lady--?

[She nods in affirmation to his question. She's confident in her knowledge, not so much in her ability to speak so freely with people she's never met before.]

You press that only if you want people to see you. [She indicates a different button.] And that if you only want them to hear you.

[She'd explain texting... but she won't even touch that unless it comes up. It's the more difficult of the three contact features, and instead decides to leave learning that all up to him.

She offers her false name without much thought.]

Lightning. [And since she doesn't want to be called Lady Lightning...] Just Lightning.

[ He continues to play around with the Dreamberry a few minutes longer, until he thinks he's gotten the gist of what she's told him down.

When she introduces - or, rather, corrects him - herself, he lifts a brow up, the smile on his face widening slightly, ]

What a beautiful name, Lightning! A very strong name. I am Thor.

[And of course enthusiasm surrounding her name, perhaps surrounding anything really, is a little lost on her. She comments back, just a little awkwardly:]

Thanks, I guess...

[She nods at the name, acknowledges it, clearly not as enthusiastic as he had, and swallows her annoyance with newcomers. She's already started conversation, she might as well ask.]

Is there anything else you need explained, or was that it?
