This is how far Vanessa Nightray has fallen. Once the only daughter of one of the most powerful duke houses, now trapped in a dream (but not a dream) and forced to find a way to stop the maddening boredom that came along with an absence of duty or purpose. But she'd resolved to be of use to her brother one way or another, and what better way than to help ease the burden of his work by taking on a job as well?
Unfortunately, she has no real skill. Her options are fairly limited due to the nature of this world and the lack of working knowledge that she has coming into it. As tempting as working in a nursery or flower shop had been, she'd never be able to stand serving others in that way. But organizing books in a library is simple, quiet and doesn't require tedious niceties. Thank goodness they had this opening and were willing to give her a chance to prove herself.
Now she just has to not screw it up. This might prove difficult. Well, we'll see if she can at least finish putting these books back up on the shelves correctly first; it's simple enough, right?
