She said she would not. Well... no. Actually, she really never said anything like that, did she? Rather, she had accepted it when he said it was not necessary. Even so, she found herself leaving the house and ignoring that. Even if it was unnecessary, Ada wished to see him. If he wished to scold her then for doing so, he could, but at least she would be allowed to see him.

There was no warning. She did not correct herself to him, or tell him that she was coming. No. Instead she made up her own mind and went, before she found reason to hesitate or doubt herself.

Seeing Vincent sitting here in the fountain, looking so lost and wilted, Ada ran the rest of the way, sitting on the edge of the fountain. "You shouldn't sit there. You'll catch a cold." And she giggled, realizing something. "You know, it's kind of funny. I got knocked into the fountain too when I first arrived." Although that had been by a person she met here by accident, not what she woke up to, but still.

And simple as that, she extended her hand to him, smiling, offering to help him up.

He should not have been surprised. Of course, he had told her not to come. And of course, she had come anyway. Because this headstrong ignorant woman just could not listen to him properly and stay where she was.

It wasn't as if he couldn't have found her. Especially if someone was coming to find him anyway, and well, it wasn't as if he were helpless. Even in some kind of strange dream world.

But here she was, holding out her hand to him as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

So what could he do?

He took it, smiling up at her, his annoyance carefully hidden.

"Oh? Then fate must have brought me here, I suppose? I was just a little late to catch you."

That charming facade was hard to discern, especially when the eyes in question belonged to someone who very much wanted to believe that those beautiful words were real.

Ada smiles. "That was quite some time ago, certainly not something you could have helped." More than anything, she felt blessed that, at long last, Somarium had reunited them.

In Somarium there were many unusual things that once could not be blamed for, and still the irony continued, with these constant water predicaments. That's why she giggled thinking about it. That and one other thing.

"I didn't know you believed in fate." Somehow she was convinced that it was strange for him, and that still he probably did not.

"You caught me. I don't."

Vincent laughs softly, stands, his hand still held in hers. He shakes a little, as if the water might just all shake off, then gives another soft laugh when he realizes that he splattered her a little.

Charming and amusing, he can be that. Even if in reality he wants to put both hands around her pretty little neck and...

"Have you been here quite some time then, Miss Ada?"

She giggles softly at the little splashes of water. While she certainly doesn't want him sick, the sight is rather cute and somewhat amusing. Now that he's here, she really feels like everything is starting to fall into place. It takes a weight off of her chest. "That's what I thought."

Ada nods, continuing to hold his hand. After all, if he allows it, then she certainly wished to keep it that way. It was only if he chose to stop it that she would concede.

"A few months now. It's hard to believe, really." But so much had happened to back up that truth.

"It's very strange for me, to think that I just saw you, at home, and you've been here..."

He frowns, really not understanding at all how this can be the case. For those who are gone from his world, he understands. But Oz? Ada? Leo..? He's at a loss to understand how they can have been here all that time.

He leans a little against her, despite his wetness and her dry clothing, letting her take a bit of his weight, for now.

He'll grant her that.

Ada is happy to support him. She remembers how confusing at all was at that time. It had been enough to override her fear and sadness at the time, so she couldn't imagine what it was that Vincent must be thinking; taking all this in so suddenly and coming here to a world where so many he already knew had been for various lengths of time.

"And yet for me it feels like ages since I saw you last. It's a little difficult to get used to, but I'm sure in time you will." Whether he liked it or not, he had plenty of time to do so.

"I don't really have a choice, do I?"

That's what it comes down to, from what everyone has been saying. There's no chance of just leaving, at least, not on purpose. Which doesn't leave him much to look forward to, and he'll have to figure something out, but there's not a lot to work from, yet.

But for now, he has to deal with what is before him. Which means Ada, and the Nightrays, and the stupid wrong Leo.

Well, first things first.

"At least I have you."
