Given the phase of the moon, Allen was expecting to run into confused individuals throughout the duration of the day and being the help young lad that he was, he took it onto himself to help anyone who seemed in trouble or confused about their surroundings.
Still it wasn't every day that he came across someone who looked like they just came out from a dip in the lake though the fountain was closer and most likely the culprit for the man's state.
"Excuse me? Are you in need of assistance?" Allen inquired politely. The golden winged ball on his shoulder perked up visibly at the man Allen just spoke to. Hmmm new face. What label shall he put on you, strange one?
Vincent's usual quick wit just wasn't working at the moment, not with everything that he'd seen so quickly after arriving in this place. He hadn't really gotten the best explanations out of anyone, and the fact that so many people who just shouldn't be there were... he was far too confused to have his usual grace.
Still, when spoken to, though his eyes widened for a second, he managed to collect himself enough to respond.
Well Allen wouldn't know anything about that since Vince was someone he never met before even though unknown to Allen, the man had been in Somarium before.
"I would imagine so. The first step in Somarium tends to be a bit jarring to say the least." He smiled apologetically. He was lucky he met so many nice people on arrival. It was only right he did the same for anyone else in his position.
"I'm glad it's not only me who is a little thrown off by such things."
Vincent drew himself up a little straighter, trying to become composed, and tilted his head to the side, questioning.
"Have you been here long?"
Might as well try to get as much as he could out of this stranger before his family showed up. And the person did indeed look quite strange, really. And this coming from Vincent, who wasn't exactly the most normal fellow around.
"It's certainly surreal. Waking up in a dreamworld without remembering ever going to sleep or the such"
He didn't feel anything wrong with Vincent's question so an answer was equally harmless.
"It will be one year in less than two months from this day." It was odd. So much happened throughout that year. Then again compared to the events of his homeworld, Somarium had been like a vacation for the most part. One where you never got the option to go home.
He really wanted to be more composed than this. No one needed to see him this confused, honestly. But the idea of being trapped in a place like this for that long...
He can't have it. It just can't be true. He won't allow this place to hold him. Can't allow it.

He can understand the confusion Vince might be feeling. After all he shared it at first. Still he didn't expect to hear that name again so soon.
"I have heard the name though I cannot say I met the owner in question. You are the second person to ask about him. A young man named Leo was asking about Elliot Nightray. All I could do was confirm he was in Somarium I am afraid."
Maybe he should have explained other things first but it would have been rude to ignore the question and he didn't do rude unless you managed to piss him off to that point. Something a select few were experts at.

"Ahhh."
Vincent frowned at that, because honestly, he's rather confused over Leo, already. Just why... why was he still..?
But the fact that Elliot was the only Nightray this stranger had heard of meant that he didn't know Vanessa either, Vincent thought, and reaffirmed the idea that Gilbert was not in this world. It didn't sit well with him, at all. Well. He needed to at least attempt to be polite.
"I was hoping to find my family. My name is Vincent Nightray."

Of course an introduction begs the same. Allen smiled politely and nodded in answer.
"Allen Walker. I can show you how to get in touch with them right now if you wish. Check your pockets. There should be a device such as this one." He took out the Dreamberry and presented it to Vincent.

"Oh?"
He pats at his pockets, feeling the familiar objects there, and then frowns a little as he indeed found something that didn't belong. It was in an inner pocket of his jacket, and he slipped his fingers past a pair of scissors as he drew it out.

"Everyone who is brought to Somarium, receives this device. We call it the Dreamberry. Odd name I know. Regardless you will find it to be very useful but also quite an annoyance. I'll explain that a little later." Allen said quickly before starting to fiddle around with his own so that he was facing the main menu again instead of the GPS system.
"Okay the Dreamberry. It is a communication device and it can send erm moving images of you to those you speak of. This is optional of course. You can also just type by using the keypad or go simply with voice only." Allen explained bit by bit. There was a lot to cover.
Allen is so helpful :DnightrayseweratAugust 18 2011, 20:41:50 UTC
Vincent put on a proper smile, listening to the young man speak and turning his eyes back and forth between the strange device and Allen's face. He had no idea what to make of such technology, but then, he had no idea what to make of this place yet, either.
He settled for nodding.
"So with this, I can communicate with everyone, right?"
Re: Allen is so helpful :Dwalk_in_greyAugust 18 2011, 22:50:34 UTC
"Yes. If you select this icon here, it takes you to a list of everyone with a Dreamberry. It also helps determine if a person has simply gone into a sleep coma or been sent back. In the case of the latter, their name is gone from the list." Allen didn't have that much personal experience with that apart from Road but he couldn't really say he minded not having to watch his back for the clingy Noah.

"So people can leave?"
And already, Vincent was planning to make a video as if he didn't know anything. To see what he could learn. But for now, he'd play along and find out as much as he could from this person as well.

"No. Not of their own will. People just come and go without warning. One morning they are here, the next they vanish from the Dreamberry list and this world entirely. Some wind up back here after a while, others do not." Allen smiled apologetically. He shook his head briefly and tinkered with the device once again.
"Apart from communicating, the Dreamberry also has an overhead map on Somarium and you can choose your destination and it will point your way accurately."

"Ahhhh..."
Vincent frowned, thinking of that, how very unstable that might make life here. Of course, that also meant that people might not realize right away if someone disappeared due to foul play as opposed to going home... but...
"This thing looks very useful."
He poked at it a little, and then something else occurred to him that he wasn't sure he liked. "With this kind of technology, it seems like staying out of view isn't really an option..."

"I think I might be, yes. I seem to be... lost."
That was putting it quite mildly.

There, have an introduction, sort of.

"How..?"
How exactly does a thing like that happen?
