Kamina grinned at everyone. "Listen' up! This is how we're gonna work."

He turned to face the desert. "Tomorrow mornin' we'll be headin' out there. I got the Gurren II," he nodded to the crimson Hummer that had been upgraded a bit, "though there are plenty of other vehicles here in case we need 'em ta help us travel faster. Bring food and water if ya want, but ya won't need 'em since eatin' and drinkin' ain't necessary here!"

Kamina then pointed up to the sky. "We'll be boardin' that ship if we get close enough ta it, and if there're monsters out there waitin', we'll just blast right on through! I ain't takin' any cowards so turn back now if ya want, but I'll be headin' out no matter who's left!"

To be quite honest, Yoko had gotten quite bored in this place; while peace and the ability to live without fear was something she greatly appreciated, having no one else to share it with besides a man she couldn't share everything with was... difficult, to say the least. Therefore, when she received his message, Yoko had headed back to where he was just as soon as she could, scouting be damned.

She couldn't help but to smile slightly as she watched him explain everything; it was amazing, she thought, how such an idiot could fall so naturally into the position of a leader. She waited until she was sure that he was finished was finished before she finally broke her silence. "Got it," she said, reaching up and pulling her glasses down. "Just try and keep up with me, eh, Kamina?"

Kamina blinked when he heard Yoko's voice and gave her his trademark grin.

"I think it's the other way around, Yoko," he said, though in all honesty he felt kind of...well glad that she was there. If anything, he knew he could count on her.

"Whatever you say, idiot," she said flippantly, turning to walk in the general direction of the Hummer. "Just don't expect me to guard your ass the whole time."

Kamina just grinned as he watched her. "Say what ya want! I'll probably be the one havin' ta save you!"

"Don't make me laugh!" she yelled, still not turning back to him. She still had to check to make sure that everything on her rifle was working properly before they set out; she would just deal with him later.

Nei glanced back and forth between the two bickering individuals, a small smile working its way onto her face. They were quite cute, going at it like little children. Perhaps they were related? They didn't look that way, so perhaps lovers then? Well, whatever they were, it was amusing, and she spared a small giggle as the woman stormed off.

Kaname saw the peculiar spiky-haired guy from a ways off, but didn't make his presence known until he was just a few paces away from the small group of people. He seemed to be engaged in a conversation with a girl carrying a large gun. Kaname's eyes lingered on her attire, though his face remained impassive.

He wasn't quite sure how all of this was going to pan out. Weapons and supernatural powers... this should be interesting.

"Kamina?" Kaname asked, his voice soft and low. "Kaname Kuran," he said, head lifting slightly as he walked up to the man.

Kamina turned to look at the new voice and saw the two faces.

"Ah, yer the guy from before!" Kamina said as he hopped down from his stand and held out a hand.

"Kaname, huh? Pleasure ta meet ya!" He then looked at Nei, noticing the pointed ears for the first time. "...Are those ears real?"

A hand absently went to her ears, Nei's face reddening slightly at the mention of them. No one had... well, really been that blunt before.

"Y-yes," she stammered shyly, shuffling a little closer to Kaname. "I'm Nei. Pleased to meet you."

Kaname watched Nei out of the corner of his eyes as she stammered in her usual style of speaking and stepped a bit closer to him. It had been a long time since he had engaged in any sort of activity with a man who had the mouth of a neanderthal. His lips twitched, but it was an action that would go unnoticed. And although he was inwardly uncertain about the nature of the person who would be leading their expedition, he smiled kindly, his head bowing in a courteous gesture.

"Hello, Kamina-san," he said politely. "Nice to meet you as well." He looked at the hand Kamina held out and slowly took it into his own, shaking firmly.

Kamina grinned and gave Kaname a hearty hand shake followed by a hard smack to the shoulder. "Great ta have ya along. Hope the trip won't be too hard on ya," he joked before looking back at Nei.

"Nei, huh? Sure you'll be ready for this?"

Nei nodded, smiling. Sure Kamina was loud... but she could already tell he was the caring sort. And all that energy... he certainly reminded her of big brother Eusis. A very loud Eusis, but the heart was there.

"I-I'll be f-fine," she assured him. "I-I can f-fight."

Kaname looked at the area of his shoulder that Kamina had touched and gave an inward shudder. Peculiar fellow.

"I'm sure I'll manage," he said in reply to his 'concerns'. "Thank you for the warm welcome."

"So long as ya have that fightin' spirit, nothin' will stop us!"

Personally, Kamina still wasn't sure what to make either of them, but they seemed to be willing, which was better than having some pansies running around.
