Quickly, he raced over the rooftops towards the noise and found Alice, held in the grip of one of the wraiths. Without thinking Altair jumped from the rooftop, only barely remembering to not release the hidden blade. Instead he rammed the hilt into the person's skull and forced them off the girl.]
Are you injured? Can you run? [These things remind him to much of the villagers in Masyaf under Al Mualim's influence for him to want to remain.]

Hold on tightly. We will be moving swiftly. [He made sure her hands were gripping his shoulders securely before he moved, using the hilt of his blade to knock the wraiths back as he darted through the crowd. Several moments passed slowly as he looked for a break to make their escape, and it was a great relief when he saw the opportunity needed to get them away. Instantly he was climbing to higher ground and sprinting away.]

It was purely an accident that the blade released, burying itself in the man’s forehead. Altair quickly withdrew his hand, letting the body collapse, and turned to continue sprinting away. Finding a high viewpoint the men couldn’t reach his only priority.]

When it felt like they were running she peeked out and looked around. They were close to many cottages, and the churches. The men were in hot pursuit, unperturbed by the death of one of their own. All they wanted was Altair and Alice.]

His eyes shot around the roads, attempting to find the easiest way up when Altair noticed the boxes (quite conveniently) stacked next to one of the houses. He made a split decision to use them and adjusted his path.]
Hold on tightly. I will need use of my arms if we are to escape.[Altair shrugged Alice a bit higher so he could still climb and almost stumbled when he realized he still held the knife and would not be able to climb with it in his hand. He briefly debated simply dropping the knife but did not want to give the possessed men any more weapons. Instead he turned to Alice and handed it to her.]
Hold this. Carefully. [As soon as it left his grip they were off, sprinting up the stacks of boxes and making their way onto the roof.]

They continued to climb and climb. Alice had never really been on roof tops with the exception of the flood. She had no need to be on them, after all, how often did a seven year old need to be on a roof-top? She watched as the ground went further away and gulped. She had fallen long ways before of course... just not with a knife in hand.]

Several minutes and many streets later Altair finds a place they can stop. The joining of the buildings created a crevice that was easy to defend and Altair knelt, letting Alice clamor down.]
We should be safe here.

T-Thank you so much.

You are welcome. [It's said a bit haltingly, but he does genuinely mean it. Her gratitude at his actions is opposite of how most react to him; but of course he doesn't usually do much saving.]
Is there somewhere safe I can take you? [He's not sure if the creatures can climb, but better to be safe.]

Will we need to go back onto the roads?

He knew that he would have to carry her once more and looked around for a place to hide his knife. Although he had found that most did not venture onto the roofs he didn't want the blade stolen. A barrel caught his attention and he moved it into the crevice they were standing in and placed the blade inside.]
Come. I do not know if these creatures can climb to the roof. [He knelt beside her again and waited for her to climb onto his back before moving.]
Where is your home?
((OOC: Nevermind, ignore the fail that was here before))

T-There, the cottage is over there.

After several minutes she finally directed him down to the street. He made sure there were none of the possessed men around before he dropped down and knocked on the door.]

His gaze hardens at the sight of the unknown man holding his precious daughter.]
