Who: Lloyd and Eridan
Where: Floating mountain
Style: First

[No matter how long he's been here, Lloyd still hasn't given up his search for the other side of the Otherworldly Gate. There's been nothing so far, no sign or evidence that it even exists, but that hasn't dampened his motivation in the least. It's out there, and he knows

It's Zelos, and I'm not, and I told you he's not my mate-spit!
[He clenches his hands into fists at his sides. His two swords are belted at his waist, but he doesn't reach for them. Eridan is a jerk, not a threat.]
What are you even doing here, Eridan? Are you trying to follow me?
Reply
[He lets out a dry laugh at that.]
Pffft! Don't flatter yourself, Redscarf. As if I'd EWER subject my precious time to glorifying your meanin'less existence with pursuit. I was merely explorin' this island.
[He eyes his fists though, how they clench like that, oh? Is he getting on your nerves there Lloyd?]

ZELOS!
[Zelos is a very sore subject.]
I'm not mislabeling anything, you just have it completely wrong! Just like my name. My name is Lloyd. My scarf isn't even red!
[Getting on his nerves? Oh yes. That started the moment he saw you, Eridan.]
Go explore somewhere else!

Like any a that is the point--So what did he do--I mean, you newer told me before, got lost in a tangent about how the lowly deserwe to die and how royals can't be wrong.
[A snort.]
And how rude, I'll explore where ewer I damn well PLEASE, I'm not about to listen to some fuckin' commoner. Learn your fuckin' place, peasant.

I didn't say anything like that! I said people have the right to be alive and everyone makes mistakes! And Zelos didn't do anything to me! He's just dead and being an idiot!
[Unfortunately for Lloyd, he wears his heart on his sleeve. Even knowing that Eridan is provoking him, his feelings are an open book. It's not something he can just shut off, dammit!]
I don't have a "place," you jerk. My place is wherever I want!
Reply
Whatewer your pitiful argument may hawe been, it doesn't matter--that's right. You killed him didn't you, murdered your friend. Here you come and tell me how horrible killin' is--EWEN threatenin' ME if I so much as slaughtered someone--and you're the murderer here. Pretty hypocritical, methinks.
So how does it feel, scum? To know you are the one to bring upon your matesprit's untimely end?
[That question actually was double edged--whether Eridan realizes it or not. Since, Lloyd and him were very much in the same boat here. But, that wasn't important, what WAS important, was provoking Lloyd, riling the human up.]
Also, Redscarf, your place is beneath my flipper, just like the rest a the scumsuckin' bottomfeeders.

That's not... Sh-shut up! You don't even know what happened! I'm not like you! I wouldn't-! I won't! It doesn't feel like anything because I'm not going to let it happen!
[Desperate denial clenches his heart, making it difficult to breathe. He shakes his head, unable to look away.]
I'm not a murderer, and I'll stop anyone else who tries to be one, even if it's you or me!

Don't you realize? If it's happened, it's goin' to happen no matter. If it doesn't happen shit will be tossed in some doomed timeline--come on, ewen I know that. It was fated to be, Lloyd, stop kiddin' yourself.
[he points at Lloyd.]
You.
The you here right now, may not be a murderer--but you will be. Future you already has your destiny fuckin' set and there isn't a damn fuckin' thing you can do to stop it.
Zelos will die by your hand, I suggest you just grow the fuck up and accept it.
[This is Eridan. This is Eridan winning the biggest hypocrite in the known universe plus paradox space award. Doesn't he wear his tiara and sash just so suavely?]
Well, here's some news for you, actually. You and I are in the same boat. Turns out in my future, I apparently do bring a end to someone--or someONES liwes. I supposedly cull my own moirail--ain't that somethin'?
[Of course, ( ... )

No!
[His whole body shakes with each word out of Eridan's mouth, feeling like a knife is being stabbed into him. Stabbed and twisted and gutting. He drags in breaths, all but hyperventilating.]
I'm not going to accept anything! I can change it now that I know. I have to! I-
[And then that final blow sinks in.
Moirail.
Eridan kills his moirail.
But Kanaya... He said that she... Lloyd stills, eyes wide.]
You killed... Kanaya?
Reply
[He opens his mouth to add something--but he visually can see Lloyd putting two and two together to realize his moirail is Kanaya. He closes his mouth, merely offering a face splitting grin. His shoulders rise in a shrug and he raises his hands, palms up, elbows bent to emphasize the gesture.]
Apparently, at least that's what I'm told. I kill Kan in the future. Murder her in cold blood. It's goin' to happen, no matter what, I'we accepted that and so should you--about Selrows, I mean. We're both future murderers.
[well, Lloyd is at least. In Eridan's eyes, but, hey, his reaction was well worth acting like he actually did do this shit in the future--he knows it's impossible what with Kanaya being one of the only trolls that put up with him. So, why not use the load of ( ... )

But now here it is, admitted straight from Eridan's mouth, and the troll isn't even acting like he cares at all! He accepts it? He's just going to let it happen? And he's smug, contemptuous, pleased with himself, like he's actually looking forward-
Fury boils up, fast and out of control.]
You bastard!
[In a flash, he pulls his swords out.]
Don't you dare touch Kanaya, or I'll stop you myself right now! How can you even call her your moirail if she doesn't even mean enough to you to try to stop yourself?! Going by that, I'm more her moirail than you!

[He grips his wand, white lightning crackling around it as his brows knit, his lip drawing back into a snarl.]
You think you, a fuckin' filthy, worthless, wile, bile churnin' peasant, are more her moirail than me? You don't ewen know what a moirail is. So how fuckin' DARE you make a claim like that.
[Lloyd, you don't even understand, this is SUCH a sore subject for him having lost his last one and then being rejected from matespritship in the same 5 minutes, to almost losing his current moirail to the same guy who stole his Fef from him. Any playing around Eridan had done previously, any senseless antagonizing was now void--his intent changed. Maybe not too ( ... )

Except to prove it wrong.
His hands clench around the hilts of his swords, his voice dropping to a low growl.]
I don't need to know what a moirail is to know that you don't deserve to be hers.
[His eyes note that wand and that crackle - a magic user. Shifting his stance, Lloyd prepares himself. He's already gathering his own energy.]
I won't let you hurt her, or anyone else! [The energy builds, and he raises his swords.] I don't care what destiny says! DEMON FANG!
[Without bothering to close the distance between them, he lunges forward and slashes the air. The energy he'd gathered follows his blades, then slams through the air in a shockwave.]

[Eridan shoots into the air, barely dodging the shockwave of energy. He glowers down at Lloyd, watching him like a hawk does its prey. His wand glowing with that serpentine white holy fire, a white glow of energy surrounding him. He doesn't hesitate as he takes aim, releasing the built up energy. It bursts forward, spiraling with small tails of energy rapidly slithering from the beam itself as it quickly burns the distance between it and Lloyd--if Lloyd isn't quick, this would make for one devastating assault.]--No one but me deserwes Kan, I'm her moirail and no matter how you try to fuckin' ( ... )

GUARDIAN!
[Because magic isn't just about direct hits. The shield barely forms before the magic slams into the ground where he'd been, blasting him with dirt and rocks and sheer magical backlash that he knows, he knows, would have almost been as deadly as a hit. As it is, he still feels mildly scorched ( ... )
