Since the rebuilding had made considerable progress, Noel had been able to return to her normal work routine. It was nice, finally having her apartment back and regaining a sort-of sense of normalcy once again. The entire last few weeks were extremely stressful, and she was eager to relax once more ( ... )

Yeesh. I must be tired. *edit* snapekillsedgar July 13 2011, 09:10:44 UTC
After only a few blocks of walking, frustration was mounting quickly. Elliot knew that no matter what he did, if Leo had made it all the way to the city by now, he was going to have a hell of a time finding him while he was barely moving. There was also the chance that Vanessa could come after him too. He couldn't let himself get caught...

... So much for that. Someone had already caught him!

"I'm not an idiot, damnit!" He snapped, immediately realizing who was following him, even before he turned his head to throw her a tired glare. In the back of his mind, he was glad to see her asserting herself so much, but if she ended up dragging him back to the tent, that would be no good.

Unfortunately she ruined that assertiveness by repeating herself... In a much more polite way?! Why?! If she hadn't done that, he might just have been forced to take her advice.

"I know how I'm doing way better then you do, Noel. Don't try to stop me!"

Even if she did rephrase what she had said in a more polite manner, Noel was still adamant on making sure he got plenty of rest. His response will not fly with her, because anyone could see that he wasn't doing as well as he claims to be. Why did he have to be so stupidly stubborn at a time like this?! So of course, she goes back to scolding him.

"You can't just expect me to leave you he---Huh?" she blinked in surprise once his reply fully registered through her brain. "Did you... just say... 'Noel'?"

Her persistence in getting him back to the tent was cast aside for the moment when the realization struck her. She was always worried that he had forgotten her, like so many of her friends did when they disappeared then returned to this dream world. Even Leo remembering her did nothing to reassure her otherwise.

Right now, in Noel's mind, she felt like she had experienced yet another miracle.

"You remember me, Elliot...?"

Here he was getting ready to get into a shouting match with her. He blinked too when she stopped mid sentence, and only got confused by her reaction. Why would she be shocked by him calling her Noel? That was her name.

... Oh, right. People sometimes don't remember what they did in Somarium. Why would Noel think he was like that though?

"You thought I forgot?"

Some part of Leo knew that staying away was useless and wouldn't get him anywhere in the end, but he couldn't help but... do so anyway. Maybe it was partly a selfish act too; he just couldn't stand looking at Elliot right now, especially not in such a condition.

It felt like it tore him utterly apart.

That was, of course, not all of it, no. It really was the only thing he could think of as it was that would protect Elliot for sure. Because, so far, the only things that had really hurt him had all been because of Leo. No exceptions. And so... He figured he should just stay away.

Did he expect to actually get to? Well... No.

So maybe it was stupid to even try in the first place. So maybe it was mostly for his own selfish needs, and he was just using an excuse. He didn't know.

Either way... Did he expect to see Elliot quite so soon? No, no he did not. But perhaps he shouldn't be surprised to see Elliot wobbling around at the outskirts of the town, where it bordered to Espoir, because of course Elliot would try to move as soon as he ( ... )

Ohhh Leo should have expected this, for sure. After spending so long together, this wasn't the first time he'd tried to hide for a while, and Elliot never let him alone then either. Why should an injury keep from fulfilling from that tradition now ( ... )

..ow.

Leo stumbled back a little with a slight grunt and grabbed his jaw. Really, Elliot, getting all violent for no reason like that. Except he had a reason, though Leo wasn't sure he thought it was a good one for punching. But they probably had very different views on it; he wouldn't expect anything else. Ah well...

"Careful," he said and frowned lightly behind his bangs, ready to grab onto Elliot should he actually be on the way to fall. "I've... been around."

Obviously.

It was a damn good moment for punching. He had no idea where Leo was for days, and had to stumble around town, probably with his sister on a warpath after him, just to try to figure out where he was. Plus, Elliot knew exactly why he had run off too, and he was just being stupid!

Screw being careful.

"Around?! You should have been with me!" Those words sounded so much like he was selfishly whining, but he really wasn't. If Leo was anyone else, he wouldn't have cared if he stuck with him when he was hurt or not.

With everything that had happened with the flood he had loast track of things and as such, that meant not being able to contact his friends or even his sister as of late and he wasn't really sure with what was going on if that'd be alright to do just yet ( ... )

... Perfect. In the last few days, he had almost forgotten that Oz was in this world too. At first, seeing him left Elliot at a loss for words. After all of the lectures he had given the kid, he knew that in the end, he had turned around and done exactly what he always told Oz was selfish.

But for some reason, Oz didn't sound totally livid at him as he approached. If he didn't remember what happened, it was probably for the better. After all, he didn't need him yelling at him about what a hypocrite he had been.

"I'm fine, Shorty" He reverted back to using his old nickname. "Find something worth worrying about."

Upon hearing that nickname a blonde eyebrow twitched a bit before he settled to huffing softly and crossing his arms over his chest firmly. Concern shifted to mild annoyance, and yet he felt more at ease that Elliot was at least well enough to be calling him that; even if he despised that nickname.

"...You don't look fine to me." A pause and Oz's lips pursed in a prominent pout briefly, though he was half-tempted to hit the other boy for saying those words. "Hey. You're worth worrying about when you look like you can hardly stand. Just what are you looking for anyway?" At the cost of you possibly hurting yourself more, idiot. He wanted to add on but left that for now, standing his ground.

There was something he was missing here and while it bugged him, he figured it was best to leave it be...at least til a later time, anyway.

Get used to it, short-boy.

"Well I am! Who says I'm..." ...Ok, who was he kidding? He wasn't going to be able to hide the fact that he's looking for something. "... It's that obvious, isn't it?"

[Every time he was trying to do something important, people always seemed to bump into him in this place. He had almost forgotten about that since the last time he was in Somarium... But for some reason, he felt like he recognized this girl's voice, though he couldn't place where just yet.]

Do I look like I am?

[He sounds frustrated. It probably would have looked like he was lost to an outside party. One could say that you were lost when you didn't know where to find what you were looking for.]

[He frowns slightly, but sighs and internally admits that he probably looked pretty pathetic right now, and she came to an understandable conclusion.]

I'm not lost, I'm just looking for someone. [He hesitates, not really wanting to admit he needs help, but he knew he couldn't keep looking forever.] You haven't seen a boy with long shaggy black hair and glasses around, have you?
