[Eridan was in the midst of taking a bite of one of the aforementioned cookies when Kanaya spoke, causing him to stop and look at her a moment, before looking away and finishing the bite. He nods, however shallowly.]

Did you ewer hawe a doubt?

[There's that defensive front I'm sure Kanaya just LOVES.]

[And she hadn't, not really. She knows how determined Eridan can be, and besides, it seems like he and Karkat were actually a fairly good hatematch before.]

[He remains silent for a few moments, glancing at her idly. There was a certain unsureness that was strung through his features and by the time he realized he was showing a bit too much of what he was feeling, his face being the perfect canvas for that, he looks back to the tv.]

[He grumbles stubbornly.]

I did. I had a little bit a doubt, with... Well, with what he and Ter hawe been blatherin' about. He seemed pretty set on hatin' me platonically--I was kinda caught off guard when he agreed.

[Kanaya is just going to gloss over that, since getting into a discussion about supposed murder isn't going to make either of them feel better. She is a bit surprised, though, at his candid response, and she takes a moment to gather her thoughts.]

Well, you had some doubts last time too, didn't you? And it all worked out. Besides, I don't think anyone ever starts a new relationship and is one hundred percent certain of how it's going to work out.
