Rose had been out and about the village, as per usual, looking for answers and questioning those that might have what she wanted. She had traveled into the city and through the village multiple times and came up empty handed. It was beginning to frustrate her, though from outward appearances no one could probably tell.
She passed Nepeta as she moved through the crowds, stopping when she realized what she might have seen, and backtracking until she was beside her, "And yet another troll arrives in Somarium."
A brow lifted when her name was spoken, her head tilting slightly. Granted, the trolls would know her name, it was just the fact that she wasn't sure which one this was now. "Correct. And you are?"
Okay, she really had to stop doing that with the humans. She blushed a little, glancing down. "Sorry...I'm Nepeta. The one who speaks to your sprite sometimes."
"Ah, yes. The one that wanted to talk to Jaspers. It's nice to meet you in person. I assume you have plenty of questions to ask since you just arrived, yes?"
Rose shook her head. Though it wasn't outwardly displayed, she wasn't really keen on talking about Jaspers. She had let him go, certainly, but that didn't mean she didn't miss him. "No. I'm not sure where he is. You were the one to talk to him last though, weren't you?"
"I see. Do you have housing arrangements made yet? It may be difficult considering the recent flood."

"You mean you didn't talk to him again after that time?" Nepeta looked shocked and a little saddened. "I'm sorry. If I'd known then maybe I could have found a way to bring him."
Which was silly, she knew. But if this was a dream and she was aware of it, maybe she could have done something to ensure he'd been with her. Then again, if that were possible Equius would be with her too.
"Oh is that what happened?" Nepeta couldn't hide the relief on her face. "I thought maybe Jack was here."
"There's nothing that could have been done. Besides, I was the one that let him go." and she would stick by that decision. There was no need for her once dead cat to be entangled in the web that she had weaved. It was dangerous enough by herself, "I doubt he would have liked it here much. Far too wet for a cat."
She nodded, "Yes, a flood about a week or so ago swept through the city. We managed to evacuate to higher ground. From what I know the casualties were minimal and none of our own were harmed." though if it were Jack that might have been another story, "No, only extremely high water and sea monsters."
"I guess." Nepteta glanced down at the ground, sighing and fidgeting with her sleeves. "Oh well. It's silly to be upset about that anyway when there are a lot of people here I know. Sorry."
She listened, jaw dropping as Rose explained what had happened with the flood. "Oh well I'm glad everyone is okay! That sounds purretty scary."
"You don't have to keep apologising." It was kind of annoying anyway. But she was annoyed to begin with. Not that Nepeta would know that by looking at her-- Anyway.
"More inconvenient than scary, really. I wish someone had warned me about putting a bunch of hostile trolls into a small room together."
"I think I'd like to explore a bit furst. Anyway, Karkat already told me but even if he hadn't, I could probably find it by wandering anyway. And it looks like there's a lot to explore here."
She cast an almost shy glance to Rose. "It's okay if you don't want to come. You're probably really busy doing stuff."
"More than likely," just look for the kicking and screaming blobs of grey and orange and...whatever other colour might be associated. Surely she could find them easily.
She paused, her eyes shifting in the direction of the desert for a few seconds before looking back to Nepeta, "I'll join you. I was on my way back anyway."

She paused to consider Rose's question. "Well I did just get here, but I've already spoken to Jade and Karkat so I understand some things."

Still she gave a wry smile at her final comment. "Yeah, I think that probably wasn't a good idea. Things can get purretty mean."

"So I've noticed. Anyway, would you like me to direct you to where they are staying or are you more inclined to wander around and take in the sights?"

She surveyed their surroundings, wondering how much there would be to investigate. "Where should we start?"
