[Terezi has stayed mostly dry by settling herself on top of her desk. She certainly wasn't going to be the one to leave first. But when she hears Karkat, she lets out a long-suffering sigh and leans over to nudge the door open with an outstretched hand. It's a good thing she left it cracked, or she'd be trapped in here.
Still perched on her desk, she tilts her head at him.]
[ he thinks she looks... hilarious, perched on her desk like some kind of unaffiliated cat with fur standing on end. it's funny, how she thinks she's going to get out of this any less than saturated through to the bone. the rain is still coming down in buckets (whoops) outside, and it won't stay too dry in this house for long.
not that it's all that dry anyway, but i digress.
usually, he'd offer her a lift on his back or take her hand and lead her through the flood. but lately, they've been anything but usual. he jerks his head in what is probably a gesture meaning get the fuck off that desk and follow me. he starts towards the front door. ]
[If she could visibly roll her eyes, she so would. But whoops, no pupils. She frowns and eases herself off of the desk into the water, making a face as it reaches up to her waist. It's a little more difficult than usual for her to get her bearings with all of this water drenching everything, but she manages to follow him to the door. Completely silent the whole way, of course.]
[ nope, this sure isn't awkward at all. not in the slightest. he takes the easiest path to the front door, kicking shit out of the way as it floats past his feet. he doesn't know how well she can see with all this rain, and the last thing he wants is for her to stumble and fall face-first into what is starting to look like the eternal depths of hell. black water, he didn't think humans had something as badass as that.
he opens the front door and steps out into the rain. if he'd thought it through earlier, he might have decided to bring an umbrella. unfortunately, he doesn't own one. no that any of that matters anyway, because he's soaked up his ass already, with the water only climbing higher. ]
[Well actually, she can't see at all. The rain is really only making Terezi more irritated. It's coating everything in the thick scent of soot and ink, and it's disgusting. When they make it outside, she pauses, arms crossed and eyebrows raised.]
Higher. [ is all he replies with in what is obviously a biting, irritated tone. he circles around to survey their poor, waterlogged house. around one side there is a gas radiator jutting out from the structure, and to a very cold and shivering troll, it's just the perfect step to get himself and the blind one up onto the roof.
he wades back to terezi, water lapping against his sides. fuck, he hates the rain. ]
We're climbing onto the roof. [ simple as that. and off he half-walks, half-swims, back to the side of the house. ]
[ snorting at her retort, he pulls her up onto the radiator before dropping her hand like it's scorching hot. there is nothing romantic about this, at all.
he lifts himself up onto the roof, which in itself is a difficult task, considering he weighs twice as much as he usually would, thanks to all the water pouring out of his clothes.
again, when he's up and has his footing, he offers his hand a second time. ]
[ usually, he'd sit down close to her, pull her into his side and they'd huddle together. this time, he just can't bring himself to do that. instead, he just rolls his eyes. ]
I watched her alchemize a suit a while ago when I was still in the Veil. I'm going to see if she still has it.
[Something very much like jealousy twists in her gut, and she turns her head away. The water is still rising. She wonders if it'll stop before it hits the roof.]
Fine, whatever.
[She pauses, then tilts her head toward him again. Her voice is all forced sweetness when she continues.]
[ flat as he's ever been. low blow, terezi, especially as this kid just went out of his way to make sure you're okay. his seething rage makes a hot coil in his stomach. ] No, fuck you.
Still perched on her desk, she tilts her head at him.]
Yes, that might be a good idea.

Genius.
[It's half-muttered, but still very audible. She follows regardless.]

I'm giving you my best 'fuck you' finger, in case you can't see it. [ he isn't, at all, but sometimes it's fun to be dramatic.
he pulls himself out of the water and onto the radiator, holding out a hand for her to take. ]

[She sighs when he offers her his hand, and after a second or so of hesitation takes it.]

at her question he wrinkles his brow, feeling in his pocket for his dreamberry. ] I'll call Jade.

[She plops down on the roof and pulls her knees to her chest in a vain attempt to keep warm. Why is this rain freezing?]
