Well, well, well. This is an interesting surprise.

Or so thought Ace as he spotted the Hatter a fair distance away from him. Well it was only proper to greet another person from his own world, wasn't it? It was probably a good thing for Blood that Alice had made him promise not to kill anyone.

But then again, she never told him he couldn't hurt anyone.

With that usual, cheerful smile-perhaps a little too cheerful-Ace made his way over to Blood.

"Fancy seeing you again, Hatter," he called out cheerfully.

Of all the things to break his thoughts, it had to be that troublesome Knight of Hearts. The first thought to run through the now thoroughly irritated Hatter's mind was how he planned on killing the directionally challenged man.

Tightening the grip on his cane -- determined to be on guard this time so as to avoid a situation such as their last encounter -- Blood looked up with a scowl. Trust Ace to act so carefree after attempting to kill you when last you met.

"Here to attempt to murder me once more, Knight of Hearts? I'm afraid you won't have the element of surprise to your advantage this time," he all but smirked.

"Hm? I'm not sure what you're talking about, Hatter," Ace said honestly. "Unless it happened back in Heartland, I haven't seen you in over a year."

He shrugged, even though his shoulder was still a bit sore from the other day. "Besides, I promised Alice to not kill." For now, anyway.

"Haven't seen me in over a year? Now you're the court jester as well, Knight of Hearts? How utterly amusing."

Blood points his cane at the Knight as a warning, foul mood darkening even further at what he believes to be Ace mocking him. Well then, he would merely have to mock him in return. "It must be my lucky day then. Perhaps we should sit down for a bit of tea, catch up on things from the past year, hmm?"

"You know it's rude to point, right?" Ace only said with his usual too cheerful smile. "Haha, actually I am curious when you're from."

Yes, he said "when," not "where."

"What has been happening in our favorite little country?"

"If you keep up that tone, it will do much more than point, I can assure you." Blood returned with a smirk, a dangerous glint present in his eyes.

"When I'm from? I've just retrieved Alice and returned through the rabbit hole, of course. I haven't the slightest clue what you're babbling on about. Please do enlighten me."

Ace only smiled, but that cheerful expression changed into one of pure of puzzlement.

"Retrieved Alice through the rabbit hole? You mean Alice went back to her world?"

For some reason this bothered him. Not that she went back, but that it was Blood who brought her back.

Oh he had him now, didn't he? As soon as Ace's expression changes, Blood's smirk grows -- feeling entirely self-satisfied.

"Yes, of course she did. The bottle was full, after all. As such, I went to retrieve her, and we entered the rabbit hole together before I woke up here with no sign of the young lady." At this his smirk drops the slightest bit.

Ace could tell Blood that Alice wasn't here, but he wasn't the type to do that. It still bothered him for some strange reason-really, he had no idea why-but Alice hadn't mentioned any of this happening when he had asked her earlier back when she arrived into Somarium. So it could be possible that Alice had yet to experience this, just like Ace.

There was another moment before Ace just gave a short laugh. "Are you sure you weren't dreaming, Hatter? Maybe you should check this with Alice. She's here, too, actually."

Blood's merely going to sigh at this, the simultaneous urge to facepalm and tear into Ace rising as the seconds tick by. He collects himself before turning to address the knight.

"Oh, so the young lady is here after all. How splendid. Although I must admit I'm unsure as to where here is, exactly. Would you care to enlighten me, Knight of Hearts?" Of course, he's entirely loathe to ask anything of this man, but, desperate times...

Ace, of course, was just cheerfully smiling as if nothing were a miss.

"Somarium. They say it's a dream world, though I couldn't really tell you if it was or not."

"A dream world, you say? I must say that you certainly wouldn't be at the top of the list of those to dream about."

This was clearly a joke then. Why in the world would he dream about Ace of all people?

"I could say the same to you, Hatter," Ace only smiled in reply. "But whether we're in someone's dream or in another world as foreigners, no one knows. Still, if you won't take my word for it, you will soon enough."

The smile brightened just a little too much.

"Of course there's always a way to find out whether this is real or not."

At the brightening of Ace's smile, Blood's guard goes up even further and he grips his cane tighter.

"You mean, by me killing you, of course? I would gladly oblige."

He gives his own questionable smirk before lifting his cane -- one move away from turning it into his gun.

Ace just continues to stand there, that smile still cheerfully plastered on his face.

"But if you do that, you might upset Alice."

His expression somehow darkened, almost deviously.

"You wouldn't want to do that, would you, Hatter?"

Blood hesitates for a moment, because the Knight had a point. He would never admit it, but he had a point.

"Killing you wouldn't really be worth my time, regardless. It would be much too troublesome."

He lowers the cane and crosses his arms.

"This time, you're in luck, Knight of Hearts. I really can't promise the same for any future meetings."
