The creatures were still following her, Jaina noticed. Not that she'd have expected differently. )
Jaina was almost there when she heard gunshots - they weren't far off, either. She froze up... was she too late? But no, the shots hadn't come from the direction of Raven's place. Still, if someone was in danger... Jaina bit her lip, turning right at the next corner where she had been about to turn left.
There was a woman, a tall woman with long, fuchsia hair - she was brandishing a pistol and a sword simultaneously... though there were more shadows crowding around her than such weapons might offer protection from. The sorceress stopped in her tracks, slamming the end of her staff on the ground, and a soft azure light enveloped the other woman and the monsters.
Small slivers of ice formed in the air around Cornelia, countless little pieces that started to whirl around her faster and faster, creating a small blizzard of deadly razor-sharp shards... but the magical ice would pass through Cornelia without harming her, as if she simply wasn't there.
As the blizzard continued, heavy sheets of ice built up on the limbs of the shadow creatures, slowing them down further and further until they were literally frozen in their tracks. Jaina used the opportunity to run through the ice storm - similarly unharmed - and place her hand on Cornelia's arm. "Blink," she muttered under her breath, and the two vanished in a burst of light, reappearing down the street about 30 yards away from where the creatures were being frozen solid.
Jaina blinked her eyes, fighting off the sudden dizziness that happened when she teleported in this place and turning to the woman - who was bleeding, the sorceress noticed, her eyes going wide. "Are you all right? You're... you're injured. There's a tavern nearby that's supposed to be safe."

The discoloration of the air caused a panic to flutter in her chest. "What is... this?" She saw crystalline objects, perceived to be ice, appear around her and they began to spin. Cornelia ducked her head low, looking for an out in between a shadow beast and another toothed monster. The ice began to swirl around her, and before she knew it, the blue chips were attacking the creatures. She expected the ice to slice through her, but when no harm came to her, the small cry of surprise died on her lips.
All around her, the dark forms were being slowed by the ice particles. There was a flash of blond and Cornelia's head shot to the right of her to see a young woman running into the congregation where she was centered. When she heard the word blink, she wasn't sure if she was supposed to do it, but her eyes closed momentarily nevertheless.
A moment later they were down the street, and Conrnelia's eyes widened. Turning to the woman, she took a few suspicious steps away from her. She was bleeding on her forehead, her stomach was cut open, something had bitten into her shoulder. A large gash dripped blood from her thigh. With all of this damage, she still looked at the woman slightly accusingly. "Who are you? What did you do to me?"

She turned back to Cornelia, shaking her head. "You're injured. We need to get you to safety." Indeed, the other woman's injuries were a bit more severe than she'd noticed at first.

Her eyes slowly lifted to the girl, her skin pale and lips turning purple. She was beginning to feel faint. The woman in front of her suddenly became unfocused for a moment. "He... doesn't know about them... yet," she said, her words coming out a bit incoherent. "Raven." Putting her hand on the woman's shoulder to steady herself, she cursed under her breath. She had lost too much blood that day between the debris falling on her and the monsters that had just attacked.
The sword that was in her hand suddenly transformed into her Dreamberry. She looked at it for a moment before her body nearly collapsed against the other woman.

Raven? He still didn't know? Jaina had to warn him, but... well, she couldn't get to the tavern. Not with the purple-haired woman in this shape. Her eyes settled on the woman's Dreamberry, which she picked up and tucked into the pockets of her robe.
Behind her, the ice was beginning to crack. Jaina closed her eyes, concentrating, and muttered another word: "Invisibility." Suddenly, the colors of the world around them faded to a dark, monotone gray, and if one looked around them for too long, they'd notice that everything seemed to be 'swimming,' as if they were looking at the world from an underwater lens.
"Can you stand? We need to walk." Jaina's voice was quiet but firm as she stood with the other woman's arm around her shoulder, supporting her. They had to get somewhere safe for the time being... she could see a nearby house with the door open. It'd have to do. The two hobbled over to the building, and once inside, the sorceress immediately set up another barrier around the building's entrance as the world returned to color. Hopefully the creatures wouldn't notice.

She immediately half sat, half collapsed onto the floor, her fingers nimbly examining her wounds while her eyes searched for cloth to wrap herself up. Cornelia looked up at the young woman a few moments later. "Jaina, was it?" She pushed several dark strands from her eyes. "You've got some power there." She had never seen anything like it. Not that Cornelia had been exposed to that much magic since arriving in Somarium, but that... was incredible. If she hadn't been in so much pain at the moment, she might have thought she was dreaming.
"I-I need to get to my sister. To the courthouse. She's in danger," Cornelia said coughing, a hand rising to her mouth. The taste of iron had emerged from her throat and when she pulled her hand away, there was blood on it. Lowering it quickly, she put the evidence behind her back, her head lowering to avoid the woman's gaze. "I'm fine. I can walk."

"Stay seated for now," she said quietly, crouching down and reaching to tear a long strip of cloth from the bottom of her robe. "You aren't walking anywhere yet, not in your condition." The gash on her thigh and the cut on her stomach looked the most threatening, so Jaina went for the thigh first. "Thank you," she said quietly in response to Cornelia's compliments, "but unfortunately I haven't any aptitude for healing magic." She did have a knowledge of basic first aid, though, and she quickly wrapped the gash in Cornelia's thigh.
She paused for a moment, putting her hands together - there was a soft glow, and suddenly a small pouch appeared in her palms, filled with fresh crystal water conjured from the Twisting Nether. Jaina raised the pouch's opening to the other woman's lips. "Drink this."

"Who were you talking to just now?" She asked. One hand moved up to wipe the perspiration on her forehead. Tucking a long strand behind her ear, Cornelia struggled to keep her eyes focused. It would only endanger her life if she passed out.
The Dreamberry in the woman's possession began making noises. Leaning forward, she took the device back and opened it. For a moment, her breath stopped and if there was any blood left in her body, it all moved to her face. Cornelia's eyes grew wide as her lips drew into an angry scowl. Before the accidental video post ended, she was already calling her sister, Euphemia. There was quite a bit of yelling on her end of the conversation before Cornelia hung up.
Throwing the phone a couple of feet away, she sighed, head falling backwards hard to hit the wall.

At Cornelia's sudden flash of anger, Jaina blinked, taken aback - though she quickly moved to put her hand in between the woman's head and the wall. "Easy now! You're in no shape to get worked up like that."
She frowned at the look on Cornelia's face. "Is something the matter?"

One hand pressed against the floor as she began lifting herself up. "I need... to... get going," she said, her voice strained from her efforts.

The sorceress reached out to put a hand on Cornelia's arm. "I need you to stay conscious, all right? Keep talking - and stay awake." It wouldn't be long now before she could teleport again, though maybe it'd be quicker to just get moving.

"I just want to make sure she's alright... though if she's making video posts like that, I dare say my worries should go elsewhere." Her fingers fiddled with the device in her hand. "You know Raven?"

In the darkness, there was almost a smile on the young Archmage's face. "I do. He was one of the first people I met when I arrived... he's a very kind man." She knelt back down next to Cornelia once she'd cleaned the other woman's face - the shred of her robe was far more red than she'd have liked. "Your name is Cornelia, right? He told me."

"He's... " She trailed off, her gaze shifting away from Jaina. She was quite for a few moments. "Yes... my name is Cornelia li Britannia."

"It's nice to meet you, Cornelia. I'm Jaina Proudmoore - I thought I'd introduce myself again under a less life-threatening situation."

Cornelia looked at her at the second introduction, her brow lifting. "You sure are a positive girl." She leaned her head back again. "Pleasure to meet you."
