A Much Needed Update
I haven't made a post here in a while. I'd say since April, honestly.
I went to California for a month. I saw people I cared about and learned a few things about myself. I left with only a handful of friendships and a lot of memories to lay to rest.
I returned to Arizona to cosplay Tony Asuka from Toward the Terra, at the Phoenix Comic Con. I've yet to edit and post those pictures.
While in CA, I found a rental store that had Dragonball Z movies. I'd never seen them before, so I watched them and it reminded me of just how much I loved that series growing up. Since that time, I've sat night after night rewatching the series since the Trunks Saga. I just now finished episode 291, the last episode of the Buu Saga last night. Of the 13 movies and 2 specials, I'm less than halfway through them. I went ahead and watched the first 4 episodes of Dragonball GT as well. It's going to be hard to stomach.
The majority of the last month has been keeping myself entertained. I've played the SIMS 2, watched anime and read manga. I found a shoujo manga series about ballet called Swan. The library had the first 9 volumes and it was really good. I've found Italian translations for the remaining 10, not that it will do me any good.
While away, I was informed that Wonderlandwars closed before I even got to make an introduction post. I also went on hiatus at Entranceway and never returned. As of now, I believe my rp days are over.
I hardly go online. This has been the first time in months. I haven't used AIM since April and have found no real reason to use Twitter either. I used to express myself through it, until everyone got a Plurk. Now there's no reason to use anything. Facebook, Myspace, even my e-mail box sits full. There really is no real way to get ahold of me, other than text messaging. I don't even get those.
I'll be returning to college in August for the first time in a long while. It will be nice to have the change in pace.
I've applied to a lot of jobs online and received a call back from H&M. The first of three interviews went smooth enough. Now to wait a month and see the results. I'll be hoping for the best. I couldn't pay rent this past month and July's is right around the corner. I don't want to anger my roommates for not being able to give my share of the rent.
Jackie's mother visited for a few days in June and signed the car over to her. It's been like a dream come true, being able to have a car again. No more waiting around or scheduling to do things weeks in advance. Her dad might send her a scooter that I can use for school. We'll see how things go.
Jackie's planning to head to CA for a weekend to visit some rp friend of hers. She has the money, the transportation and the time to do it. She said she'll be leaving towards the end of July. Better do it before school starts. We still need to pay for tuition and books.
We went to a water amusement park some weeks ago. It was the first time I've done anything like that before. We also played miniature golf, rode bumper cars and games in the arcade. I've seen quite a few new movies in theatres as well - Toy Story 3, Eclipsed, The Last Air Bender and the Karate Kid. They were good. The best time was spent at the drive in.
I got some Dragonball Z games for the PS2 I haven't played yet, but I'm excited to, when Jon can help me unlock the characters. He got promoted twice in his job, so he'll be starting new hours soon. More money to pay bills too.
Yaoi-Con is in October and we haven't started sewing yet. Our list seems to fluctuate, so we'll see what makes the final cut when finances are involved. We're hoping for at least 3 outfits.
I watched a few dubbed anime episodes tonight off Funimation's website to give it a try. The trailer for D. Gray-man burned my ears. Same for Black Cat. Ouran Host Club wasn't so bad if you focus on the storyline and not the bad acting. Romeo x Juliet's was pretty tolerable. I watched 4 episodes of it and I can stand the acting since it's growing on me now. I loved that series through and through.
It's about time I did a layout change for here and Twitter. I'll see what I can whip up in the following week. It's been ages since I've made one.
