The fact that you could possibly be in trouble for this is beyond ridiculous. They cannot press any charges for that, because there were no actual threats. It's just not possible, and if her uncle is truly a Sheriff, the fact that he's thinking that he can press charges for that is preposterous.
One, no threats were made in the first comment. Saying that someone needs to be stabbed is not a crime. Listing information regarding a plan to actually physically assault someone is a little bit trickier, but it's something that could possibly carry a charge. What you said is nothing more than shit-talking, and last time I checked, there were no legal liabilities regarding that.
Second, you might be in trouble (nothing horrendous, mind you) for consulting someone into possibly beating her up. However, since she was not beaten up, thus no offense actually occurred, you are unable to be held legally liable, yet again. It's just shit talking... again.
