My dad and his wife said last Saturday of watching the Dr Who episode The Curse of the Black Spot (Season 6, Episode 3), that they thought of me when seeing the Doctor explain to the pirate what the different parts of the TARDIS were.
I watched the episode Wednesday night on ABC iView (had a friend's 21st on the Saturday) and loved the scene, so I searched Google for how to record audio using the default programs on a Mac, and found that Quicktime can do screen recording, movie recording, and audio recording. Once I'd recorded more then I wanted, I found that you can also trim the file with Quicktime. This led to much mucking about, (1 second, 1 more second, maybe 2, argh, too far, Undo Trim, 1 second, Play.) This was what I did a lot of, then I bluetoothed it to my dad's wife.
I also liked another part of the ep where the Doctor wants to throw some treasure overboard because it's how the Siren gets to her victims. The pirate says "This is the treasure of the Moghul of India!" and the Doctor goes "Oh good, for a moment there I thought it was yours." I got this bit when I was watching Doctor Who Confidential for the episode, so now I have two audio recordings and I should watch Torchwood (again) to get more. O goodie, instant message tones just to confuse my family :D
I will also now be putting links here to these audio recordings so they can be downloaded. Each file be called a part of the quote and will have the show initials and season and episode numbers so you can find the quote where the episode came from if you ever forget it. They will also come under the tag 'favourite quote recordings'. Some of the endings may be a bit abrupt because the scenes on the other end come very very close and took a lot of careful trimming while still trying to have the entire word be heard.
