Garcia was frustrated and would have screamed if they’d been in Quantico. Being in a foreign states law office, she didn’t think it was proper for them to hear her getting irritated. The hold music was also starting to annoy her. It consisted of a constant thumping and weird sounds, what Morgan would probably call ‘techno.’
She likened the constant transferring from one department to another to a merry-go-round, because she was going round and round and not getting anywhere. Explaining the same problem over and over again was also getting to be an annoyance
And you would think that one department would at least have an idea of what to do. Each customer service rep, before transferring her, had said that the next department would be able to help her.
So far she had talked to six different departments, had to listen to two different recorded messages asking her to choose options so she could be transferred to the right place, and been on hold for thirty seven minutes (yes, she was keeping count.)
One more person, one more hold….
Garcia screamed.
“Baby girl, baby, shh.” Morgan was shaking her shoulder gently. “What’s wrong?”
“I have spoken to seven different people, been on hold for forty two minutes, and had to listen to what sounded like a subwoofer turned up really loud with computer sounds thrown in.” The pitch rose with every word.
“You scared us. We thought something had happened to you.” Swivelling in her chair, Garcia saw the rest of the team outside the office, watching her. Hotch was wearing his usual expression, gaze steady. Reid was clutching his messenger bag strap with both hands, eyes wide. Gideon’s lips were turned up slightly at the corners. JJ and Elle both looked relieved that nothing had happened.
Embarrassed, Garcia waved to them.
