I've had several callers call me ma'am recently. Ach, I hate my phone voice and I feel lucky I don't actually hear myself talk. Apparently in addition to being whiny, my voice is starting to go feminine.
Ack, I can't let myself get self conscious about my voice. I have already spent too many years being silent. Used to be that I was unwilling to let others suffer through listening to me. That's probably the reason I have an accent when I speak English and Spanish. Glad I got over that phase. I'll just have to avoid listening to recordings of my own voice.
