moving on...well, since last time i started uni this week. so far so good. i think i will like second year MUCH more than first. i ran into a few old faces which is good....except one..........
WARNING: sad news about to be said...
a friend of mine down here, his name was justin, died almost two weeks ago. he was the singer for a black metal band here in tas called nuclear winter. for those of you who care, they were going to be in recrucifying this year. he was closest to ben from ktk, although dave and i saw him a lot too. i knew him even better than most of the guys becuase we had all the same classes last year and saw each other all day at uni every week. he was a really intellignet guy and easy to get along with. many a good conversation was had. unfortunately for him, no one turned him on his side when he passed out drunk a couple fridays nights ago, and he ended up choking on his vomit. his friend and bandmate colin found him a day later. and i'm pretty sure colin and the other guy who supposedly left him that night are beating themselves up pretty badly. anyways, it was a shock to say the least. i will miss him becuase he wasnt a dickhead and actually a really decent musician. the upside that some of us saw? if youre in blackmetal, its a cooler way to go i guess. but maybe i shouldnt say that. i dunno. well, i know you guys didnt know him but i thought you should know that.
its hards losing a friend when you dont have many down here. however, i did get approached by a guy named greg today. at first i thought he was trying to pick me up, but i think he was just eager to make friends like me becuase he also had moved here alone and was having touble meeting decent folk. he knows i have a boyfriend atleast so he shouldnt be under any misconceptions...he seems cool though, so we'll see.
well better go. just so people know: Recrucifying is supposedly still on for April 14 and 15. the shows should be hobart on friday and launceston saturday. FYI, i get from thursday (before easter weekend) to wednesday (after eater) off. one week, so if people come down, try and make it for then. i really hope you guys come. especially those of you who promised LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!!! keep in touch
