Adventures at CVS

My mom needed some heel protectors so I, being the sweet kindly daughter, went to CVS to get it for her.  While there, I stopped and looked at some stuff I usually pass through, including...

Home hair color products.  They had some Garnier ones on sale for $5 and I thought coloring my hair might be a fun little thing to do.  I'm a little bored with how black my hair is anyway.  A little reddish brown or dark brown might be a good look.  After looking and contemplating for 10 minutes, I put color 433 down.  I had my hair highlighted once in high school but didn't care much for the outcome.  Anyway, my hair does have brown streaks when I'm in direct sunlight.  Finally, if I were to do something to my hair, I'd rather get it curled.  So no home coloring for me.

Tanning lotion.  While browsing through the lotion, I spotted Jergens' line of tanning lotion next to Aveeno.  Self tanning is something I just don't get, especially living in So. Cal where the sun is shinning all the time.  But then I got curious about the effectiveness of tanning lotion.  Is it like make up except in a lotion form and it goes all over?  Do you have to wash it off at the end of the day?  How long does it last?  Does it smell like coconuts?  (I don't know why I think it might smell like coconuts.)  However, I really don't need tanning lotion.  I tan pretty damn easily already and sun block is definitely a better investment.

Fake eyelashes.  I actually changed my opinion about fake eyelashes after looking through them at CVS.  I used to think they were gross and spidery.  Plus, they were so obviously fake looking.  However, they might also look fantastic for a night out and there are times when I actually want to get super girly.  At the end, I didn't get any because they didn't have a great selection and I'd like to do some online research on fake eyelashes.  What's a good brand?  Are they contact lens safe?  Am I supposed to put on eyeshadow first and then the eyelashes?  And how the fuck do I get them off later?  What if I accidentally glue my eyelids shut?  So many questions...

I guess sometimes, I like playing the girl strange guys buy drinks for, but only if it's pretend because it's much less hypocritical and insulting to my feminist tendencies.  *sigh*
