Target - The World's Richest Half Marathon

Sep 03, 2007 16:13

The Hutch Delhi Half Marathon will be run on 28th October 2007. I will be running the whole 21 kms :-).
Training, if you will, has started in all earnest from 1st Sept. The aching body parts bear testimony to that ;-). This journal will be regularly updated (hopefully) as a forced training journal every few days at least.
There are tons of training programs on the net. I am taking a comfortable average of all.

Day 1
- Decide to test self and run 8 kms straight in gym in one hour exact with 3 short breaks for water and rest. 4 stints of 15 mins each.
- Feeling good and confident that this is doable.
- Note to self: such an enthu excess need not be repeated. Slow and steady mate.

Day 2
- Stretching and strengthening exercises for about an hour.
- No significant pains from Day 1.

Day 3
- Rest.
- Some all over the body aches in the morning from Day 2's stretching. The usual pleasant aches, nothing to worry. Feeling normal in afternoon (after all I have started cardio gymming last month onwards)

Arun saar, any tips? Rahul, I'll join you in about 2 weeks.
