Not dead

One of these days I'll go back through my archives and find out how many times "Not dead" has appeared as a subject line.

I'm supposed to be working on my reading for this week, crafting a rough draft of my paper on the preservation of Auschwitz and generally being productive. Clearly, however, I am not.

There was:
-KarvalCon...a silly little geek fest in a po-dunk town about an hour south of us. Because of it I have acquired the can-can dress of my dreams. Also, the po-dunk atmosphere meant that the 15 con goers had the run of the hotel. Kind of awesome when you're practicing improv skits about dinosaurs in the hall.
-GrrrlSam and a weekend of OompaMonkey adventures. Company = good times. Celebrating Pi day at Tattered Cover (of which there are three branches I stand corrected world. Before this month I just knew of the one.)
-Learning to weld and the like at the auto shop. My classes concluded in February but we have a bi-weekly open shop days where I'm learning awesome stuff. I'm working on designing a stand for a break assembly and because of that I cut steel.
-Volunteering...I started volunteering at the local middle school with a remedial reading group. Today is Thursday which means I have to go there soon. I am a silly blonde kid at times.
-Bronchitis....not fun and knocked me on my butt for about two weeks.
-More company and a blizzard...DanG. stayed with us last weekend whilst courting a grad school in Boulder. The normal 2-hour round-trip to the airport took 6 hours. However, I feel like driving in the blizzard was something of a rite of passage. Ellen, sorry we forgot to share. The lingering sick and snow fried my brain a bit.
Maybe in April I'll be employed? I have two solid bites for real work. One's tied up in bureaucratic red tape and with the other they're calling my references. So here's hoping to having a job by summer?
