Strike a pose

I felt very dynamic today.

Maybe it was the shirt I was wearing. I will never be able to pull off a gown with a plunging neckline but I'm becoming more at ease with showing some skin...yes I'm aware exposing more than my collarbone is normal. For years though even scoop neck shirts scared the living daylights out of me [Ahhhh! Blinding skin and no cleavage!]. But today, I was completely OK with it and wore my ruffly, scoop neck shirt with pride.

Or maybe it was the fact that I bring home the bacon, or rather the barbecue. Doing a food article for Thursday's food page on barbecue as a pre-emptive strike on Memorial Day and I when I left for assignment, McGruff joked to make sure I brought back some. Well the nice people offered to give me some to take back to the office so I did. He was so pleasantly surprised he even smiled before I scurried away again to do another interview.

In other news:
The day I get accustomed to being called ma'am, someone needs to take me out and buy me a drink. Either that or sit me on a swing-set and swing until I can't feel my legs.

Swung by the grocery store to pick up some wet cat food to aid owencreature in his attempt to rescue three ridiculously cute kitties from the crawlspace they call home so he can take them to the shelter. I couldn't make the blasted self-scan machine work and the cashier tried to help, but it took me a good minute and half before I understood what she was trying to say to me. I thought she was talking to someone else because she prefaced all her pleadings with, "Ma'am."
