There is a word in Farsi called "Nalle-Varunae" (I am not certain if that is how it translates into english)
Nalle-Varunae can loosely be described as the art of Bullshitting. It is the act of twisting what one says or avoiding saying the whole truth or rather answering the question.
The impact of this is when you know its being done, it pisses you off. Think of it like as you would the word Schadenfreude, or Backpfeifengesicht. It invokes an emotional response of irritation.
Persians are very good at doing this and very good at knowing when its being done to them, my parents are very good at this skill, and it pisses me off, but then to see it being done on a "global" level, well that just...grinds my gears.
So whenever that rat-face Ahmadenijahd uses it or any other Iranian official....ooooo I feel like bitch slapping someone.
Remember how when Ahmadinejad spoke at Colombia and didn't really answer any quesitons and claimed there are no Gay people in Iran and other such crap, remember that very irritating feeling in your gut when he spoke, Congratulations you have experienced some one commiting the act of Nalle-Varunae.
Here is a more recent example
http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2009/06/20096261178950796.html The way the Iranian Regime keeps trying to pin blame of their country's election problem onto the West is another such example.
So there is the culture lesson for the day.
