AN: Wow! =D It's been a while, huh? XD Sorry for the delay, people! I hope you're all still into this story! I've just finished sizing up the events and writing a chapter guide. This story should have around 15 chapters and an epilogue. So roughly sixteen. ^^ Also, does anyone want to do a banner for this fic? ^^ Whoever does gets to decide what they want my next one-shot to be. Now, one with the fic!

"There aren't any turns or corners, it just goes on and on."

Ruki sighed for the millionth time, slowing his walk to a stop. Indeed, the walls stayed pretty much the same during the past ten minutes, with bare, twigged plants climbing and hanging over them. A rubble of rocks, leaves and weeds crunched underfoot, and the air smelled of a dead animal somewhere nearby. Not having seen any other form of life here, he figured it were those poor fairies that sky person was harming.

The scenery had gotten old and boring very quickly, and by the subtle way the path was curving, this only outlined the rest of the maze. He might've already lapped around the entire perimeter of it. Not liking the thought of wasting such time, he shifted his weight and tried to think of a solution.

Really, a labyrinth shouldn't be just a one-shot path. And he'd gotten a good look at it before he'd entered, so he knew there were twists and turns somewhere. Now if he could only find them... Kyo did have a lot of power over space and time, so he wouldn't put it past him to cheat and make one, big circular... circle for him to follow. Like a hampster in a running wheel. That was seriously disturbing, and he didn't want to dwell on it.

Instead, he thought back to his visit with Aoi. He already found out that not everything was as it seems... He couldn't even get into the Rabirinsu because of a stupid question! Now his problem was inside those doors, and Aoi's company long gone, though it gave Ruki a bit of comfort in knowing that he could relieve some stress teasing the taller man. And why was he so tall? Weren't goblins supposed to be Knee-high short?

Ruki blinked as he remembered something Aoi'd said. Something about him always having a problem with the simplest, basic things, even now. It gave him an interesting perspective, not really knowing for sure if it was right, but more than happy to accept if true, taking things for granted. "Maybe I'm just taking it for granted."

Who knows, he might have been assuming wrong. There was a possibility that he was going nowhere, but there was also an equal possibility that he was going the right way. Either solution, he didn't care. Maybe, any minute, the corridors would end and the twisting and turning of random paths would break open. What would've happened had he chosen to go the other way? Would it look the same or completely different?

With renewed energy and determination to get the hell out of this extremely elongated alley, Ruki set off again, stumbling over a log in the middle of the path before regaining his balance.

After running as fast and far as he possibly could, and zero change of scenery, Ruki was about ready to pull his hair out. He let out his frustrations in a deep growl, hitting the wall with a hard punch, his hand coming back a little bloody with a couple of scratches. Why couldn't he figure this out? Why wasn't anything going his way for once? Why did Kyo have to take Reita away!

After releasing his anger out on both walls, drained of strength and energy, he slumped to the ground. All he could do, now, was to wait here. Wait until his time ran out and both he and Reita were lost to this realm forever, because this was serisouly beyond his capabiliteies. He was too spoiled, used to getting his way because he was famous. And Kyo took Reita, took one of his friends away because he'd asked him to, regardless if he meant it or not.

He folded his arms and placed his head in them, willing himself to calm down. What was he going to do, now that he was going to be stuck here forever? Was Kyo going to trn him into a goblin as well? There semed to be more questions than answers. Suddenly, he kinda wished for Aoi to be here, so that he would at least be able to provide him with a hint if not comfort.

"'Ello."

Hearing the voice near his right ear, and surprised he missed another person's presence out here to begin with, he slowly turned his head. It wasn't Aoi's voice, but it sounded friendly and a bit concerned. Wanting to do anything just for the chance to make another friend, a better friend, he didn't expect to find him only six inches tall. Ruki looked around, but couldn't find anyone else there. The small man was looking at him, so Ruki asked to relieve his confusion.

"Did you just say hello?"

The man shook his head. "No, I said 'ello, but that's close enough."

Ruki inches closer, trying to get a beter look. "You're... very small."

He shook his head. "I'm Hyde and very average." No, he was a tiny mman. But he could've been like himself and very sensitive to be called as such, so he dropped it. He doubted this small Hyde-person would know anything, but it couldn't hurt to ask him for a bit of knowledge.

"You don't by any chance know the way through the Rabirinsu?"

"Me? Sorry. I'm just a brick dweller."

Ruki accepted those words. He wasn't expecting anything out of them, anyway. He really was alone in this thing. But how was he supposed to head towards the castle if he couldn't even get past these stupid walls?

"Come inside and meet the missus."

"Huh?" He turned to see Hyde gesturing to a small hole in the wall, no doubt the entrance to his home and where his wife resided. And it was way too small for Ruki to fit through. What was the little guy thinking? "No thank you." He faced the wall he'd been leaning on moments before. "I need to find a door, or passage; something that would get me out of this loopy place."

"But you're not looking correctly. This passageway is full of openings. You're just not seeing them."

Ruki, startled with the voluntary help, looked back at the man with surprise. "Where are they?"

Hyde nodded his head forward. "There's one just across there, right in front of you."

Ruki shook his head and looked back at the invisable door again. "No, there isn't." Solid brick stared back at him.

"Of course there is. Try walking through it, and you'll see what I mean."

Ruki gave him a wierd face. "What?"

"Go on, then."

"That's just wall, there's no way through."

"Things are not always what they seem in this place. So you can't take anything for granted."

That hit him square in his chest, and he let out a breath as if he were hit with a ton of weight. Is that what Aoi had meant? Was Ruki being so closed-minded, thinking only in human logic? This was a place full of goblins, magic and powers beyond his comprehension. Everything goes according to how the inhabitants want it. The Rabirinsu is ever changing because so are the beings who live there, the helpful, dangerous and indifferent.

And maybe, since Hyde wanted to help him... He walked forward, eyes closed and waiting any moment to plant his face into the wall. When nothing came, he opened them. The wall was still a good foot away from his face, but he'd moved several feet from his newest friend. And to his left was a small opening, just big enough for him. "Hey!"

"Hang on!"

He'd done it! He really finally got in. He walk to the opening just to make sure it was real. True enough, he could see brighter stone and clearer skies. He had to go thank Hyde. He might've just been the biggest lifesaver in the world to Ruki, so he owed him a lot. He turned back to the small man. "Thank you. That was incredibly helpful."

"Don't go that way."

He was just about to go that way, so he was kind of confused. "What was that?"

"I said, don't go that way. Never go that way."

He looked across and found another opening similar to the one he was standing next to. He probably didn't want him in danger or anything. He owed him a lot just for getting him out of here, so he decided not to question it. He probably wasn't strong enough to go that way. "Oh. Thanks." He took the other path, not hearing Hyde when he was out of sight.

"If he had kept on going down that way He would have gone straight to that castle."
