Hey guys
yeah i still exist.
"American wasteland"
Laina is right, this is really one.
so i felt i should make an entry
obviously im not gonna go into detail about the last like 6 months so i'm gonna be pretty broad with my statements
so boarding, thought it would be like loose and stuff
like i could go out and hang out with my friends all the time
and actually be allowed to have fun, you know
apparently, thats not true at all
i love boarding, but the rules are pretty freaking ridiculous
here's my schedule:
M, T, R, F:
7:00-7:30: breakfast check-in (used to be required in my first marking period, but with ALMOST perfect attendance and honor roll grades, i got out of it).
i still go though
7:45: start of my first class- i do have frees sometimes first, but not usually
I go to lunch during frees or the 20 minute lunch period around 11 to 12:15
2:35: end of the class day
After school: sometime around 3-4 practice starts (JV Volleyball as of the moment) and it ends an hour later
Then probably some socializing or something in between.. maybe homework.
6: Dinner time in the dining hall.. sometimes when dinner is scary, i order in.
7:15: Check-in at the Dorm. i cannot leave the dormitory after this point. if i miss this checkin, i have to do a grueling chore around the dorm during break (mentioned later)
7:30-9:30: Study hall in my room, i get to close the door during it due to honor roll acheivement, so the dorm parents cant watch everything i do
they say they turn off the internet, but they dont. so i get absolutely nothing done till break or free periods.
9:30-10:15: BREAK. stay in the dormitory and socialize with everyone time. losing break sucks cause i do homework during break
10:15: i have to be in my dorm room at this time. dorm parents knock and walk into your dorm at this time.
10:30: LIGHTS OUT. laying in the bed with your lights out. dorm parents walk in your room and check.
i usually turn my light on after and do homework or pick out the next days outfit or something.
Wednesday-
7 am to lunch are the same.
12:10: when classes end (same with saturday) - after, you eat lunch
Games after (sometimes at 12:30, sometimes at 5... it all depends.
if not, practice at 3:30 - at these days, i like to go to town before practice with my frienddddzzz. yes i have friends
dinner and on is the same.
Saturday-
same as wednesday until dinner
Usually, i go home from saturday-sunday night after games. but sometimes not (some weekends are called 'closed weekends', meaning i can't go home for the weekend.
dinner at 6 - you have to check in at dinner with a faculty member, even though saturday dinner usually sucks.
after, socializing with people on campus
i watched movies with my friend Julia this weekend.
sometimes there's movie trips or dances or events and soever.
11 pm: check-in at the dormitory
11:30 pm: lights out and in your rooms.
Sunday:
certain morning things
brunch - 12 to 1
1 - 6: socializing or whatever.
for me, i watched more movies and ordered in food
6: dinner if it doesnt suck - or ordering in
7: back on campus if i left to go home
same as weekdays for the rest of the day.
yeah much freedom there.
anyways so
JV Volleyball, i despise its being. my coach hates me. i miss 3rds Soccer, that was pretty much my life.
my classes are really hard and challenging
course selection:
Period A - Global II (1ST SEMESTER I HAD ART, but it changed with the semester to global)
Period B - French II
Period C - English (my non honors class, so figuratively, its my best grade)
Period D - Honors Bio (hardcore)
Period E - Theology (only two days a week - study of religion - required for all 4 of my years)
Period F - Honors Algebra II (yeah as hardcore as it sounds)
Period G - when i have a double period of bio ( and formerly art, too) it extends into this period
Period H - school meeting in our auditorium (some people have to miss school meeting certain days of the week because of band or making up a test, not me though :-( )
So yeah, now grades.
See this knowing that grading at my school is a lot tougher than most public schools
marking period 1: 2.95 (just making honor roll), three effort 1 grades, the rest 2s (one is the highest, 3 is the lowest)
marking period 2: 3.67 (talk about improvement - high honor roll) all effort 1 (meaning i got on headmasters list - only about 20 kids in the entire school get this - 350 kids in my school as it is)
Semester I accumulative - 3.46 (just making high honor roll - weighted because of honors classes)
I get my marking period 3 grades soon - marking period 4 just started - yeah i have 5 marking periods.. weirdd.
yeah in the spring, im gonna try out for JV tennis.
yeah ive made a bunch of friends here, a few boarders, a good amount of day students
im definitely not popular, but i like my friends a lot and they like me so i dont care.
and theres the rarity of attractive boys here, there's some. but i was hoping for a lot more.
but of course ive gone through a few, no boyfriends, but its probably just because i havent liked a boy here for more than like 3 weeks and then im sick of them.
here's the deal too, our school doesnt do snow days
so i have day student friends who drove from like a 1/2 hour away to get to school on valentines day because their parents made them.
everyone else had a snow day but us.
and we dont get random days off, like presidents day tomorrow or MLK day or Veterans day or Memorial day. but since we're a predominately catholic school (though i am not catholic myself), we have a long weekend for easter haha.
we get long weekends of about 5 days too
and our breaks for like christmas and march are like 3 weeks long. i have 5 days of school in march.
so im gonna visit my old school, as i have twice already, during march
along with my old condo neighborhood and stuff.
ill make sure to write another entry before the end of the school year.
