Christmas
I got Rosetta Stone, levels 1 & 2. Tomorrow I begin using it. I also got a phrasebook that in addition to having the standard expected phrases, has some pretty amusing ones. For instance, in the section At the bar, there's "I really, really love you." In the Social section, there's "Let's use a condom," followed by "That was great/fun/weird." I also got a couple things that will be useful both for camping and for Africa, like a hand-cranking lantern that lasted 90 minutes off of 30 seconds of cranking, and is still holding a charge several days later when I flick it on.I finally watched the Hogfather a couple days before Christmas.
Liked: The Tower of Art, "Born to Rune" on the back of the Dean's robe, the complete interchangability of the wizards (save the Archchancellor and Ponder, natch), Death's voice, Death's blue-edged sword, Mr. Teatime.
Disliked: Death's caricatured face.
LOVED: Susan Sto Helit, played by Michelle Dockery, who looks something like the love child of Keira Knightley and Helena Bonham Carter. HOT. And she plays Susan to a tee.
