I get a rather intimidating and official-looking letter from the tax office. Apparently I didn't pay 400 Euro of taxes in 2005.
Now that's weird, as I always pay everything on the spot.
I call my accountant.
"I got this official letter, etc, I'll pay it on Friday."
"Nooo! Don't give a penny and bring me the letter! you NEVER pay stuff when the Tax Office wants to."
"....ah no? It looks quite intimidating and says I have to pay in 30 days or it'll be trouble..."
"Don't! If you pay, the Tax Office will assume you know you're guilty of not paying everything and they'll start checking on you, then it's real trouble."
..... can the logic be more stringent?
can it happen in any other country??
